Seton Hall, Sat. Feb. 11, 12 Noon, CBS SN/SiriusXM

Credit to the staff for having a plan to keep Delgado a non factor until the game was out of reach, and the team for executing it. Great Lovett "dig" as the announcer called it, when he got on the ground to strip Delgado of the ball. After LIU, there was mass panic and the thought of going winless in conference. Here we are around midpack and a game from 500. When Yakwe hits a 15 footer, you know it's going to be a good game. I liked his desire today, and his big, post game, smile.

On days like today, I love watching the half-time reports of the games that follow ours and watching the highlights and hearing the accolades bewtowed on us. Even those from Lav.

Second game in the last couple of weeks where the foul shooting was around 90 per cent . Owens has become deadly. It will make it tough on opponents trying to catch up in the last few minutes. The players must be working hard at it.

My good fortune to be in Aruba!
Did not see game and did not see score until there was a sports line...my heart was sinking awaiting the outcome...( why do some of us take the team sooo seriously???)
Nice!
Great win for all in the SJU family!!!

Manchebo Beach and a SJU win. DOES IT GET ANY BETTER GENERAL?!?

Nice win. Another game where the team closed out the first half strong and then held its own against the comeback in the 2nd half. Blocks and getting turnovers continue to be a staple of our D. Good coaching plan to prevent Delgado from killing us again.

Great games by Lovett and Owens. Best effort I've seen all year from Yakwe, he played better than the stat sheet. Ponds played a solid game for him. Alibegovic?? Or someone dressed like him??

Only real negative was Ahmed again refusing to share the ball. Aside from the forced shots, he had people open on the run at least 3x and just would not give up the rock. Frustrating, but there's always next year. And he will shoot us into a couple of wins still this year I think. But can be tough to watch.

Agree, but he played hardnosed D-had at least one big block-and grabbed a bunch of boards. He's never going to have great court vision, but at least he didnt force to many shots today. All in all I would say that he helped us more than he hurt us today.

This was an effort to be real proud of. They closed it out well and they hustled and went for 50-50 balls.

There was a buzz on the train home today and it wasn't from alcohol

Maybe the best defensive effort of the season today. Mullin cannot sit Lovett at the start of games, even if he is going for a bigger lineup up front. He's the most complete player we have. That could have backfired early. Sit Ellison.

We in section 114 assumed it was a disciplinary matter. Don't really know any more. Don't like the move regardless of what it is, but hard to argue with the results. A case of end justifying mean.

Ellison has had some very good games, and some bad ones. When a guy isn't performing (he apparently got hurt today as an aside), other guys deserve to play more. That is what Chris has been doing by and large and that is always the way to go (and why depth is necessary).

Ellison on the bench was a key ingredient for our win. Coach needs to cut his minutes going forward.

We are #83 in Kenpom. We have a real shot at the NIT. Amazing, nobody expected that two months ago.

Season is already a big success, but NIT would make it a slam dunk.

Great game. Very strange about Ellison though. Agree he didn't play well in first half, but was surprised to see Amar and Mussini get late minutes over him in second half.

It's simple Malik played his worst game of the year in the first half. Amar and Muss contributed they deserved the PT. I was so glad when Chris didn't revert to the starting 5 to start the second half.

What happened to Mike Rice? Is he still available? Just in case Seton Hall needs someone..

Owens!!!!

The whole frontline played well: KY, Bash and Amar all contributed. It was a team effort from those four guys.

True, but not to be negative, Yakwe is a horrible rebounder.

Sometimes you need a guy who can box out and free up other guys to board. I'm not saying KY is particularly great at this but he played tough today and did the dirty work on Delgado when he was in there. I'll take it.

Very important that we finish strong and not just for post season invite reasons. We need to go in to next year feeling good about ourselves and we need recruits to feel good about the direction of our program.
