Seton Hall, Sat. Feb. 11, 12 Noon, CBS SN/SiriusXM

- Great game plan.
- Contributions from all - with Lovett and Owens distinguishing themselves
- Yakwe, while having limited rebounds, booting a few and missing a dunk, played tough. Ref had to speak to him a couple of times when he was bodying up on Delgado on out of bounds plays
-Ahmed forced a lot at the beginning but backed off after a while and played tough D while rebounding very well. Good overall numbers
- Nice crowd - listed at 9K+ but looked like more...lower bowl looked just about filled. Thought that might put it closer to 12K (not sure how much lower bowl seats).
- Would like to have seen Butler win vs. Providence but think we are a tough matchup for them in any event.

great complete game by ALL !!! Coaches , players, fans at Garden.....great win today. Boys played really really well. Next year this team is DANGEROUS!!!!! They are only gonna get better and better and if they play like today, sky is the limit. Go Johnnies!!!

This is killing me. Have the directv guy here fixing my dish and missed the first half. Was watching the play by play on the CBS game tracker. Stepped away for a few minutes and suddenly were up by 10!!! Nice!!!!
Wha happined to ur dish? Was at game, great to beat local rival. Would be great to finish season ahead of Hall and better than Rutgers to help local recruiting.
Hope we had some croots at this game.

Lost a whole section of channels. Worst timing. Had to cancel my Super Bowl party last week. So glad I got to see the 2nd half. Really loving this team. So many kids to root for.

We had a very good game today . Amar and Yakwe played like men . Yakwe's confidence is improving with each game . Shamorrie and marcus believe that they can go to the basket whenever they want to . They are both left handed but are now starting their offensive moves from the right side and ending up on the left side at the basket. ahmed is really turning into a very steady player , no forced drives today .. Owens was great and he Amar and yakwe neutralized Delgado .

Owens!!!!

The whole frontline played well: KY, Bash and Amar all contributed. It was a team effort from those four guys.

True, but not to be negative, Yakwe is a horrible rebounder.

Sometimes you need a guy who can box out and free up other guys to board. I'm not saying KY is particularly great at this but he played tough today and did the dirty work on Delgado when he was in there. I'll take it.

28 minutes, 3 rebounds, not acceptable for a BE PF IMO, boxing out or not. Oh well, on to Butler.

Can't agree more... Being 6'7+ in the paint for 30 minutes, you should by accident get 5 rebounds without even trying.. I don't get it...

Because, in a perfect world, he'd be a stretch 3, who wouldn't have to bang it inside too much.

I thought he did a great job keeping the ball out of Delgado's hands today.

I think he did great today with Delgado as well... I was really wasn't just referring to today, more or less the whole years body of work. He's listed at 6'8, I think more like 6'7, anyway at that height and being around the basket, my point is that without even trying hard, balls will find you. I'm hoping it's just the sophomore slump cuz I actually love the guy..

Agree, but he played hardnosed D-had at least one big block-and grabbed a bunch of boards. He's never going to have great court vision, but at least he didnt force to many shots today. All in all I would say that he helped us more than he hurt us today.

Eleven and eight and a beautiful no look that resulted in Missini's only basket. Noting to complain about.

Great game comments by all and I have little to add but to say Tariq Owens plays with intensity every game and if a couple of the other players ever catch his fever we can beat anyone in the Big East. As they say "you can't teach height" but Tariq has hops and speed and a developing shot. With double portions of everything in the dining hall he should gain 20 more pounds for next year when he will become a bigger factor in games.
Coach Mullin was in control of his team and looks like he is in command during time outs. No games are going to be easy but had we not lost 3 games we should have won we could have had 15 wins by now en route to an 18 win season I thought was doable in November.
It would be nice to see everyone on the same page the rest of the way and play with the energy and enthusiasm of Tariq Owens.

Yakwe drew a charge around the four minute mark that kept the Hall at a safe distance when momentum shifted their way. It was as big a play as any.

Drew three charges total. Eight points, three charges, three blocks, three rebounds, flummoxed Delgado much of the game. Haters gonna hate.

But I'd say that Hey Jabber Jaw had a slightly better day.

Lol. So we should ignore his rebounds stats for the year because of his well played game today? I like Yakwe, kinda made that clear, doesn't take away from the fact that he averages only 3.5 rebounds a game, down 2 from his freshman year. That's the point I was making.

It will be interesting to see what kind of effect the 6 day layoff has on our guys. It honestly can go either way. I've seen teams look rested. I've seen teams look rusty.

The fact that we're the only BE team that has played 12 conference games, leads me to believe that this break is a welcome one. Hopefully, that translates into our performance.
to me this game has huge implications if we are going to finish the middle of the pack in the big east

I agree we have to win this game. Somehow have to control Delgado , Willard is so unlikeable we can't let them win at MSG again

Gotta win 2 of these next 3 at MSG: SHU G-TOWN and PC. I want atleast 7 B.E. wins, which gives us 13.
If we can steal just 1 of the l;ast 3 road games, that would give us 8, 14 wins.

I'd call that progress.

But, yeah lets smack the snot out of shu

SHU - BAMMMMMMMMMM 6-7 now. We're taking care of business vs. school that we are supposed to at MSG.
F taking 1 of 2 vs. G-Town and PC, lets roll them both.
Next 2 games are road games vs. Butler and Marquette, lets split those 2.

Back to the 6th spot in the B.E.
.

We are #83 in Kenpom. We have a real shot at the NIT. Amazing, nobody expected that two months ago.

Season is already a big success, but NIT would make it a slam dunk.

Very important that we finish strong and not just for post season invite reasons. We need to go in to next year feeling good about ourselves and we need recruits to feel good about the direction of our program.

I agree, just referencing the NIT since it'd be a major statement. No matter what though, we clearly have improved and that was always the goal this year. NIT is just a stretch goal.

Two months ago I was panicking because I thought recruiting would fall off the map. Nice to have a completely different mentality now.

Was agreeing with your point as well, just added the other 2 reasons. If we make the NIT it will be a phenomenal accomplishment.

NIT? My mind right now is on winning the BET and getting an automatic bid. The only team that worries me is Nova. We've already handled Butler, Creighton and Xavier have both lost their PG and all the other teams we'd be either favored or a pick em. Avoid the 5 seed so we don't meet Nova till the finals and anything can happen
