Rysheed

I can't help but wonder if Kris Dunn is what turned the light on for Sheed.

If you asked me last year who had a brighter future I would have said Sheed. Dunn was struggling. Injuries obviously a factor. But both players coming in at same time and Sheed was playing better even with all his flaws we knew of.

Now this year Dunn is POY in the BE in my opinion and maybe Sheed sees that he can return next year and do the same.

I actually trust him shooting a 3 more than Dee at this point. And watching the Marquette game for the first time I said to myself I really want him back next year. It looks like he has finally bought in and things are clicking.

He wants the guaranteed money. One more year will likely get him that.

Same for CO, I think they both come back. if they do, next year doesn't seem so bleak if Lavin puts together a good recruiting class.

I don't know, he strikes me much more as being in the Jakarr mold and will take his chances. Last time I checked, which was a while ago, he wasn't even on the draft boards for 2015. If ne's now made it onto the second round, I'd say he's likely a goner.

In a rough game, I thought he was excellent today. One of his better games.

Honestly, he had a nice statline, scored points hitting threes and taking the ball to the hole. I don't think he was excellent on defense, and although defense is a team game, I wouldn't say he was dominant. We fell apart in the second half with Sheed on the floor, and he has to take his share of blame for that too.

Nothing he could have done to stop the interior play in the second half.

Maybe you're right. I don't know though. I think a future NBA first round pick puts a little more teeth into our fight, but I could be wrong. I mean, Nova is good, but they aren't Kentucky

We played without 2 key players in our 7-man lineup. It hurt us down the stretch but that is expected imo.

If Nova plays Kentucky in the Final Four I'd expect them to beat them. If that matchup happens that will be the first and only time I ever root for them.

There is the all-star Moose that we've missed. Good post.
He's finally bought in and he's taking what's there for the most part. We really need that. Dunn has been sensational this year...just awesome. Providence is a Josh Fortune away from a Sweet 16.
I think Jordan will be back.

Great post

Well except for the fact that before this season Dunn had played all of 4 games in 2 years at the Div 1 level. Yeah, injuries hampered him just a little. So while Dunn may be physically more mature/older he was far less experienced coming into what was essentially his first year of competition. He's just that good. Hope Rysheed can get to Dunn's level but I don't see the correlation, they're pretty different players as well.

For a split second when I saw "honor roll" I thought "academics". Which would have actually been a very good thing.

Can we let him speak to the media now?? Its time

Not sure why anyone would even care about whether or not Rysheed should or shouldn't speak to the media.
As fans there are many things we can question but I am sure Coach Lavin is 100%correct in holding Rysheed back. The kid has so much in life to overcome and deal with and has now bought fully into the team concept and our recent winning is in large part to same. On our list of concerns this should be item 1000. I fully support Coach in his decision in holding back Rysheed from the media.

Do we know for a fact that this is Lavin's decision and not Sheed's? Either way, I agree with you.

That's great, you have your opinion and I have mine. Personally I enjoy hearing these kids speak

Try to convince him to come back next season and you can hear him speak in the NBA for the next 15 years after that.

Like the 8 assists yesterday. Would like to see him come back next year and raise that number. Giving him some forwards to pass to would help as well.
