Rysheed Jordan

Think Sheed will be our most talented and best player next season.
He is easily the biggest reason I am stupidly optimistic about next year. He is our best point guard in years. He may even grow another inch or 2 in the next year.

I had not even considered that he's not done growing. At 6'6" with his skills he'd present enormous problems for defenses.

He's perfect where he's at. I doubt he grows anyway. I've never been a fan of tall point guards.
I went from 6-5 to 6-7 after I was 18 but, obviously, that's me. It's definitely a possibility.
When I was in Ireland at the Guinness factory they were saying there are some health benefits in their beer. Didn't realize it did such a good job on growth

Let's get the whole team on guinness !!

I used to play. Played against a small handful of NBA guys and played against pretty much every prominent LI guy who graduated HS between '93-'97, so I can get my nose dirty. I'm still in pretty good shape and I'm sure I have some eligibility left. When are tryouts? ;)

Sheed was asked on his Instagram account if he was leaving St. John's and he said no. Hopefully that makes everyone's day a little better after yesterday.

Well the school year isn`t over.

Sometimes with these kids you gotta come straight to the point.
ARE YOU COMING BACK NEXT YEAR.

It's not creeping when it's public information and I follow him. Plus I'm 21 so following a classmate isn't that odd these days..

Then we can get him to sign a contract that he is definitely coming back....

I'm pretty positive that he'll be back. I mean, his best shot as the NBA is having a big season next year and making the jump. If he transfers, he'll have to sit out a year and it will make things harder for him to get to the next level.

He could transfer to Temple and get a waiver because of his sick mother. But , I believe he ll be back. Although your argument is more applicable to CO. I cant see him sitting out a year. He might go to Europe, but he is still offensively challenged and needs at least another year.

If he becomes the floor general that he is capable of becoming, we could be a completely different and much improved team. Excluding Omar, we haven't had a true floor general around here since EB. .

Thanks for scaring the    out of me. (They don't have the emoticon to truly symbolize what I mean). I thought it was a press release about him leaving.

Congratulations to Rysheed.

The following quote form the press release is most encouraging. We have some guys who padded their stats against inferior opponents, but sagged in BE play. Rysheed actually elevated his stats in Big East competition, likely due to acclimating to the college game and getting into a comfort zone. Big things next year from him if he continues to improve and works hard on his game this summer.

"Jordan, a 2013-14 BIG EAST All-Rookie team selection and four-time BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, averaged 9.7 points per game as a freshman. He led the Red Storm squad in assists with 88 (3.0 per game, T-12th in the BIG EAST; 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio, T-11th) and steals with 1.2 per game (tied for 10th in the league).

In BIG EAST play, Jordan's numbers surged to 11.2 points, 3.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 30.1 minutes per contest."

Good for Jordan. I don't see him leaving, even within a greatly depleted team, he can do enough to impress NBA scouts next season.

On a side note: Billy Garrett Jr was oddly not nominated for this "Freshman of the Year" award, even though Jordan and Davis from Xavier were.
