Rysheed Jordan

@TheRecruitScoop: Rysheed Jordan has bumped up his college decision date to April 11th. The 2013 Vaux (PA) guard is down to St. John's, Temple & UCLA.

Anyone shocked?
Even money he switches date again?

What do you mean? What's the significance?

No significance
He has said he was committing on a certain date like 6 times this year and changed it

I'm feeling confident about Jordan commiting to St. John's but at the same time my friends who follow the guy on twitter say there is no chance, he's going to temple. So I looked at his twitter and he seems like a dude who has a lot of pride in his city and that too makes me think he will commit to temple

No knowledge of situation, but from what I read I get a sense it may be more Temple than St. Johns. He sounds like he loves his city (Not starting another whole discussion about recruits from NY that attended alot of St. John's games). Also I feel as though Temple has made great strides under Dunphy.

That being said, if i wanted to get to NBA, it has to be st. john's over temple.

I think it's possible if Jordan comes here that Harrison won't be back.. Without Harrison, Jordan might slide right into a starting position and, I'm sure that possibility is being presented to him. I just hope he's all his rep says he is and can put the ball in the basket from the 3 pt line.

That's all well and good but no one has said he CAN put the ball in the basket from the 3 pt line, in fact Scout.com identifies that as an area in need of improvement. For those with short memories or too lazy to do their own interweb surfing here's their summary on Rysheed:

A big, physical lead guard, Jordan is a competitive and tough prospect. During his high school career he's spent time both on and off the ball, but as his high school career has progressed so has his ability to play the lead guard spot. He's a strong driver that plays well through contact and gets to the rim well. His shooting is an area for improvement, especially from beyond the three-point arc.

Harrison is a SG. We need a pg. I dont see why we wouldnt start Jorden and Harrison, if they are both here. We would be able to go far, we really would be well balanced w quality at every position.

What? 1st of all Harrison has already stated he will be back, 2nd of all, the two players play different positions. Harrison has no reason to leave just because Jordan commits. Greene will probably be a backup SG to Harrison and Branch a backup to Jordan for when Rysheed gets into foul trouble or needs rest or whatever. But Jordan might even commit, so it might not matter.

His shot is actually pretty good

From Zagsblog today:
"Sources close to St. John’s indicate they are confident of landing the 6-foot-4 Philly Vaux Roberts guard, who is also considering Temple and UCLA."

I wish I was as confident as "sources close":

Volume scorer.

I like him getting to the hole better than his outside game.

That being said, it will probably get really ugly around here come the 11th.

Hope so that is what we need

Do not feel the road to the NBA is better with Temple Think it is better with Lavin and his staff

Anyone find it . coincident that a Scholi opens up 1 week before Rasheed is to pick a school Maybe coach knows.something

We were recruiting Jordan all year.

Asked multiple times but never answered. Is Hooper on a BB scholi or something else? As a Harvard transfer one suspects he is qualified for academic ride, although need would be very hard to demonstrate.

id hate to admit this, but Jordan will commit to Temple next week. The good news is if Harrison comes back, we are FINE! heres my breakdown of possible line ups.
PG- Branch, Jordan ( if he comes ), Greene, Balamou
SG- Harrison, Hooper, Marco
SF- Sampson, Sir Dom
PF- Sanchez, Jones
c- Obekpa, God Gift

That being said, we are still stacked. Hopefully the trip to Europe will make these kids play up to their potential. We are plenty deep, but need to play like a team. Id be happy with or without Jordan with D'Angelo back. 2013-14 is our year....that is it. we will not be as strong as this team for awhile. do or die. Lets Go Johnnies !!!
