RJ is showing large signs of becoming a complete player. His assist to turnover ratio improvement is significant. Holding up and or passing on the fast break where appropriate is noticeable. Trying to dribble through double and triple teams has diminished. Passing to someone with a better shot than he has is now part of his repertoire. That's all to his and coach's credit.

QUEENS, N.Y. (Dec. 2, 2024) – For the third time this season, St. John’s junior RJ Luis Jr. was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Monday.



The 6-foot-7 wing out of Miami, produced his third 20-point, double-double effort of the season in the Johnnies’ 77-63 win over Harvard on Saturday at Carnesecca Arena. Luis posted a game-high 24 points, shooting 50 percent (9-18 FG) from the field to go with 10 boards. The junior wing also recorded four assists in 33 minutes of action.



Luis leads the Red Storm and ranks fourth in the BIG EAST with 17.6 points per game. His 6.8 rebounds per game are also tied for the team lead with Zuby Ejiofor, which also ranks seventh in the conference.
