All of them also shot over 36% except for Dillon Jones (32%). Jones was a shocking pick at the time, but he also shoots 85% FT and great defense. And all of them played their way into the first round in their final season in college.

His offensive potential gets even more scary if we replace Kadary and Scott with a couple of more reliable shooters to open the lane for him...If he plays pro next season, it will be as a two-way player primarily in the G-League until his shooting improves. 800 people in suburbs v. sold out MSG. Kind of appealing.
We are a Final Four contender with him. He plays his ass off on defense, plays even harder on the glass, and he's our best offensive player.
at first read- thought - what a great player comp... a "hustle/energy" guy.... was curious on Hart's college stats... career 39% 3pt shooter...RJ though taller has a Josh Hart quality about him. Hungry for the boards, good defensive instinct, runs the break, finishes around the rim. He can easily carve out a nice life in the pros
In my opinion if he’s projected to get drafted at all he’s gotta go. He’s 22. It’s go time. At worst he’ll end up on a two way contract.
Makes more sense for RJ to take four years at $8 million with $4 million guaranteed. Hes proven his health this season. Dont see how staying increases his value unless he finds a way to shoot 37% from 3 next year. He could also potentially get reinjured if he stays which would crush his value.
Agreed. But then you could look at Ryan Dunn who is close in height and weight to RJ and a year younger. And all of them played their way into the first round in their final season in college.
Absolutely…McNelly is talented - for a freshmen. Age aside, he is a better outside shooter than RJ but everything else is a check in RJ’s column. He MAY be a lottery pick but will not have an immediate impact in the NBA.The thing with RJ that doesn’t rattle the Stats is his heart and determination .
How many times does he get the ball underneath on a rebound , with bigger guys all over him AB’s he still gets the ball and scores
His putbacks are amazing .
Plus , he usually will shut down the other team’s best player or scorer by playing scorching defense
And , as we saw against UCONN , his midrange J is lethal . Clutch .
That shot he made off Zuby’s pick was off the charts . He actuary grabbed Zuby’s to accelerate around the pick to get the ball and shoot
He shoots a high arc to boot
I don’t care what the rep is on McNeeley or Solo Ball, RJ was the best player on the Court on Friday .
Stealing ideas…maybe you should change your screen name to Huma de huma da…Ed Norton?Should the NBA to use a blend of the NHL and MLB model where they allow their players to be drafted and allow him to stay in juniors or college.
Make it where the NBA team has until the drafted player’s junior year to bring him in, or forfeit the player and he re-enters the draft. Players who receive NBA salaries cannot receive NIL money.
The fear of course is that it may cause some teams to hoard players because they can keep drafted players on the team without paying and use their NIL money to overwhelm the transfer market.
I guess, unless someone corrals the NIL in, nothing will change.
And yes, I am stealing this idea from Moose (not proud of it though), who tossed this around pre-NIL.
He isn’t a very good athlete. Smart player and good shooter: poor defender. Got every call the other night as if he was a Dookie. He can’t hold a candle to RJ talent-wise overall.Absolutely…McNelly is talented - for a freshmen. Age aside, he is a better outside shooter than RJ but everything else is a check in RJ’s column. I think Dunn is a level up in terms of defense and athletic ability. Mitchell as well.Agreed. But then you could look at Ryan Dunn who is close in height and weight to RJ and a year younger.

Dunn did not get drafted in the 1st round (28th pick) for his shooting. It was his athleticism, length and defensive ability to guard multiple positions the same things I see in RJ plus better offense.
I know this year is supposedly a deeper draft than last year but he has to have open some eyes.
Dunn has a 7'2" wingspan and already has a very good NBA skill that's hard to find (defense). That draft was also extremely weak. Dunn's probably returning to school if he was a sophomore this year in college.I think Dunn is a level up in terms of defense and athletic ability. Mitchell as well.
