It's all about the popcorn, baby.Great interview by Serby. All I can say is we are at a different level now with him as Coach. My question to those in the know is “How bad was the culture with CMA? “ and why was Andre Curbello so revered ?
He lived in the N. Bronx and travelled a bit to get to Molloy and Curran. Would have been easier to play at Scanlon or even Holy Cross. Those Molloy teams, of the mid-late 60s, were as good as any in the city.I swear he also reminds me of his “mentor” and old Coach Jack Curran.
Coach and Curbelo can talk top popcorn places to go. Then, Coach can tell him St Johns is not the best place for him and he [RP] will be happy to find him [AC] a new home.looks like we know who our PG is
Q: What are your favorite New York things?
A: The pulse of Manhattan is probably my favorite. Christmastime in Manhattan is one of my favorites. Sometimes I could just visualize sitting there with a bag of popcorn,
This makes sense to me as well.As far as who else is returning, I think it might be Posh, Wusu and nobody else. Just a feeling. We shall see
I’m confident that coach can take a roster of Soriano Posh Storr Wusu Gardner Clayton Timberlake and whoever else he wants to the dance next year. This makes sense to me as well.
-That’s the two top talents in Storr and Soriano.
-The two, Posh and wusu, with the most St. John’s equity, who by all measure are hard workers and by no means talentless.
-Plus a culture guy in Traore and a project and Keita.
That’s leaves 7 spots to revamp the roster and perhaps 2 of those are Gardner and Yaxel.

The 7 - 8 new players does make the math tougher to stay, but I thought Joel didn't count against the scholarship count, or does he?And bumped it up from 6-8 to 7-8 new players. 7 new guys would mean 3 more to stay outside Joel, Storr and Traore. Still of belief that Posh and Wusu are in the discussion.
Completely agree. From the interviews podcasts. Pitino definitely has pumpedYou can't read that interview and NOT be absolutely pumped about the years ahead. Bring it on!
Plus you can be sure he'll mix in a couple of "not-your-average" walk-onsAgreed
Oh Curbelo is bye bye, doesn't matter how people feel about the punk, he's going.Even assuming Posh and Curbelo both want to come back, and they convince RP that they are 100% committed, I don't see any way RP wants both of them back. There's just not going to be enough minutes to go around with the other backcourt players RP will be bringing in.
What a fabulous interview! Thanks Amasein'.Q & A with Serby

I hope you’re right because I think Posh is our only chance to make any noise in March. Imagine Posh playing next to Clayton Jr. and Timberlake/Storr? Talk about perfect complements to a Tasmanian devil. And bumped it up from 6-8 to 7-8 new players. 7 new guys would mean 3 more to stay outside Joel, Storr and Traore. Because he is the master of mind games. Wants to see who will step up.Pitino lumped the players into 2 categories:
1- Kids who work hard, love basketball and are respectful to coaches and the gsme.
2- Bad culture kids, square peg in round whole, dont love basketball, not the players Rick is looking for.
He put Joel and Drissa in category 1.
He put everyone else on the roster in category 2.
Why does anyone think a kid in category 2 will be on this team? If he liked any of those kids, he would have mentioned them w/ Joel and Drissa.
I am one of those subway fans. Didn't go there but went to a game when I was a kid when David Russell was playing. Been a fan ever since. It was easy then, they were so good every yearQ & A with Serby

I can't imagine it. Posh would have to come off the bench and I don't see itI hope you’re right because I think Posh is our only chance to make any noise in March. Imagine Posh playing next to Clayton Jr. and Timberlake/Storr? Talk about perfect complements to a Tasmanian devil.
