Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

I think Storr falls into his own category of being young and impressionable. He has only been w/ the program for 8 months so not much to go on.

Guys who are supposedly leaders and have been here for 3 years are the issue. Them not being put in the category w/ Joel and Drissa speaks volumes.
So your previous statement contains caveats. I think at the end of the day two or three more kids will stay assuming they’re willing to take on the challenge. That’s not inconsistent with what Pitino has said. Time will tell.

Feels like nothing is sure with Posh because they’re waiting for Walter Clayton’s decision. Clayton could pick Florida and if he does, I think Posh will be the point guard next season. I hope Clayton comes and Posh stays anyway.

I know little about Clayton jr , other than he was the Pitino PG at Iona . I did notice he entered the Portal as soon as Pitino was announced as our new Coach ? Coincidence ? Maybe . Likely ? No ! He mentioned Florida since it’s home for him but , why would he leave Rick who has invested much time in his development , Coming to St John’s is the logical choice for young Walter . Hope he does . He’s a terrific player .

There are now other factor$, besides just wanting to play for a specific coach, which come in to play. So we'll see.

Yes , of course .. Rick could turn Clayton jr into the NBA? Will the current Coach of Florida do that ? He’s new at the job too . First year just finished .

I'm not suggesting Clayton would be better off at Florida, just saying that it's not simply just a matter of who the coach is. Although I do agree that it's a big factor.

Personal and/ or Family issues ? Just saying . Don’t need to reveal .

More important than what does Pitino feel about Posh is what does Pitino feel about Jones. Jones has much more upside than Posh If he can control his talent.

Guys, when we talk about Posh's upside it appears we are judging him almost solely on his admittedly disappointing junior season. Let's not forget, he was both Big East freshman of the year and Co-Big East defensive player of the year, a feat that only Ewing, Iverson & Alonzo Mourning were able to accomplish and honorable mention all Big East as a sophomore. To me, that demonstrates that he has plenty of upside and perhaps Rick thinks he can get him back to that level. We'll find out soon enough.

So no different from any of your other posts 😉😊🤪🤣😂👍
Hey, I'll be the first to admit that I don't know shit about shit. All of my comments are opinions and/or predictions, nothing more. I got no inside info, except an occasional tidbit here and there. Because I'm right 95% of the time makes other posters think that I have inside info. In fact one well respected poster texted me yesterday and said "well, your info on Pitino coming was way more accurate then mine". I replied that I had no more inside info then anyone else who reads this board. I just happen to have a lot more common sense than many on here 😂😂

All of that has merit . You are correct . But , Posh was clearly a Anderson Dissenter , even going back to last year . Rarely listened to him and that Mic’d up event showed us why . CMA was almost incoherent on that huddle . Of course , bringing in Curbelo didn’t help Posh either . I wonder why Nowell wasn’t recruited hard from the Portal last year . Of course , he’s a great talent but , he was never mentioned or did I miss it ? I doubt it happens but , what if Pitino thinks he can rehab Curbelo and not Posh . I’m disbelieving that even a miracle worker like Rick can do much with Andre . But ,

Monte 5% more gets you to full fledged elitist status. Stop being humble and enter the ivory tower :)

NC, The biggest concern I have about Posh this past season was the perceived falloff on the defensive side of the ball. Posh will never be a great offensive player because he struggles with shooting. That’s ok because he dishes well and runs the point pretty well. Every player has weaknesses to work on.

However, when I watched the games I was surprised as to how many times the opposing guards blew by him right down the middle. This created gaps in the defense, dishes for hoops or easy kick outs for threes. As mentioned he was once co-BE defensive player of the year. I don’t know the reason why. His game is predicated on defense. If he comes back the staff and Posh will need to get that part of his game back on track.
