Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Pretty sure I posted something last year that Holloway would jump at the chance for this job when it opens again. Loyalty to Seton Hall will only go so far with no resources. As long as we make the right hire after Pitino I think the money will continue to come in.

That's why I wanted Hurley to take the Lakers job last year -- because it would be easier to come here from NBA flameout than jumping from UConn

Short of that, hopefully Pitino coaches until he's 80.

There’s a lot of things people know that are best left unsaid. If that was to become public, it should have come from Richmond or not at all.
Why do you have a problem with Pitino speaking up for his player, while also acknowledging the difficulties facing Coach Holloway. As for things best left unsaid, most know why Kadary signed with St John's so this was not revealing any big secret. Just curious, what gives you the right to determine what others should or should not do?

You haven’t seen his moral police badge? He displays it all the time in here.

Interesting question, since my OPINION was in direct response to you offering yours. So you can post yours, but you are above being responded to? And to equate Pitino sticking his nose on what is essentially none of his business to sticking up for his player defies common sense. What exactly was the issue that he was sticking up for Richmond about?
Frankly, I have a well earned respect for him as a coach, not so much when he gets in front of a camera and microphone.
Feel free to disagree or criticize with my views but don’t ask question my “right” to express them, especially when I am responding to you doing the same, just a tad hypocritical.

I don't agree w/ logen often but do think he's right here.

At a minimum, and it's been said here, don't talk about other people's business (money in this case). Pitino did not need to say what he said as he said it. That was not what he was asked.

Interesting addition, logen gave his opinion which is what this forum does.

To me since Kadary is on our team now it’s relevant. Personally the way I saw it was Pitino saying something complimentary to Holloway and to Kadary saying if the money was the same or even close that Holloway would have Richmond and that it’s not an even playing field

It’s not an even playing field and we could easily be on the end of the have nots down the road when Pitino eventually retires at 80 ( like Kranmars said ) even after he wins us a couple championships

This is the new reality of college sports. He said the truth

Its not like he pulled a Kim English and threw shade at the other team like he did at us

The way I look at it is Pitino is the best thing that's happened to this program since Louie, we look really good and are a pleasure to watch which more than makes up for the fact that coach often gets carried away when he's in front of a microphone. Hell no one's perfect but he's pretty damn good as we get ready to head into February being more than a potential bubble team for once.
