Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Taliek Brown’s senior year stats look a lot like Jenkins. Except Brown knew not to shoot it.

That kind of awareness of your weaknesses is huge.

David Cain in his All-BE senior year had a lethal pull up J from 12-15feet. But that was the extent of his range.

He shot 5 three pointers all season and I'm sure some of those were heaves at the buzzer.

That's hilarious and great marketing, never a dull day with Pitino. I'm a much bigger fan of MSG than CA and would prefer it at MSG, but given some of the rumored games next year (Alabama at MSG, Duke at Ashe), that's not a big deal.

Main downside here is it'd put a lot of pressure on the team and pump up UConn, which may offset the additional home-court advantage of CA vs. MSG (and almost no UConn fans). I mean, winning/spoiling Lou's 100th birthday is a massive deal. It's now a must win for St. John's given the lost revenue and significance of the day.

That said, Pitino wants players up for the challenge and I respect that, it's a good mentality to have. This could potentially be one of the greatest (or worst) games in St. John's history. Already excited (and nervous) about it. :ROFLMAO:

no way UConn at CA happens... love the banter on twitter... but i put the odds at +2000 UConn plays in Queens

I hope you're right as I'd prefer it at MSG, but honestly given the marketing implications of Lou's 100th birthday I could see the Big East and Fox going for it. Attendance is important for them but this could result in higher TV ratings for the game and juice up the rivalry. They may agree to it as a one time thing. Fox (and the Big East) are known for thinking outside the box, such as the Arthur Ashe game, mic'd up games, etc.

If Pitino was serious about celebrating Lou's birthday, wouldn't this be a Georgetown game? (And yes, probably at MSG)

Definitely sounds they'll do something on 1/5. If this UConn game at CA isn't it then I could see them taking an old Big East team that St. John's sometimes schedules at CA and therefore wouldn't result in much lost ticket revenue. PC or SHU may be most likely. Georgetown doesn't draw at MSG like UConn or Nova so I could see them playing that at CA on 1/5, too.

Clearly he agrees with all of us. lol

He somehow just upped himself. Incredible.

It’s about time we have a coach who can give it not us always taking it The Jay Wrights and Ed Cooleys have been abusing us for a long time.

We lost the the Villanova game at The Big East Tournament two years ago because Jay Wright worked the refs to get Posh fouled

out. Villanova was being abused by Posh and Wright had no answer. Wright kept crying and got what he wanted, CMA never responded

the whole game. Hurley was doing the same crap last game at UCONN. Heard CRP not happy about it and this is his response.

Hope staff has a surprise for when Hurley arrives at MSG

That game still haunts me... was sitting in the middle of Nova donors (nice people) - showing me their Natty rings - they didn't even really cheer as they were coming back... its like they knew they were gonna win... should have thrown the ring to midcourt...lol
