Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Very nice article written on Matt yesterday in the Post. I think he will thrive in the new role raising Nil funds and coordinating between the 3 NIL groups raising funds for the program. Best of luck to Matt. His success at raising funds will be directly linked to the teams success going forward.
Knowing Matt I am convinced he will be a great asset to the program.
After hearing what happened between Matt and Mullin and how that ended I am willing to move past that part. Matt bleeds Johnnies red.

Below is a link to a video which reviews some of the defensive schemes which Coach Pitino used at Louisville.

I don’t think our Head Coach wants Big East expansion as much as many of you do.

Nobody “wants” expansion.
This forum has had posts proposing the Big East add Gonzaga, Davidson (!), VCU, Oregon State (!!), Dayton, St Louis, Memphis and I can’t remember the rest but I’m sure I forgot some schools. Other than UCONN there isn’t a credible murmur that anyone else wants to leave. If you add to something without subtracting anything that causes expansion.

That really wasn’t my point. We don’t WANT to expand, we HAVE to out of necessity.

The Big 12 survived because it was proactive. The PAC 12 died because it wasn’t. If the PAC-12 didn’t pass on BYU because it wasn’t a good “cultural fit” and was more aggressive, the Big 12 would have died. Colorado left the Big 12 for the PAC 12 in 2011. That was the Pac 12’s chance to finish them off for good and they didn’t take it. They could have taken Iowa State too.

BYU is a monster. They get 60,000 fans a game they are a national TV draw. They are now the flagship program of the Big 12 and that could have been prevented.
