Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Borzello from ESPN

Eight teams overhauling their roster

St. John's Red Storm: Rick Pitino wasted no time stamping his name on the Red Storm program. Nine players entered the portal, including six who started at least 17 games, but Pitino came away with 10 transfers -- namely Ivy League Player of the Year Jordan Dingle, All-Ivy forward Chris Ledlum and MAAC tournament MVP Daniss Jenkins.

Hopefully second time is a charm in Sin City. We were supposed to play the programs first ever game in Nevada back in Mullin’s first season as HC. That matchup with Arizona State never happened and was replaced with the South Carolina game at Mohegan Sun.

This is Friday at 5:30 in the morning. Can you imagine the type of work we get from Espken on a Wednesday at noon?

Coach Pitino’s horse Aggelos the Great ran today at Saratoga took third in the first race. First time starter, he ran in the lead most of the race and tired in the last 1/16th. Ran under the colors of RAP Racing. NY Bred…went off as the 8/5 favorite Got beat by a 15-1 shot.

Yeah, Rick clearly is pushing Joel to the limit, which will translate to not only a solid season, but maximize his professional reward somewhere. From NY Post piece;

“It’s definitely different, definitely got a different aura around it,” said standout center Joel Soriano, the team’s lone returning contributor. “Everything is a lot more, I would say, demanding.“
