Add Dingle and Zuby we got a solid squad! Mack I think pounds out jersey Sorostitutes at Kilroys for a year, then heads to NBA. Slick Rick will get the 5 star kids not worried.

Yeah Cruz probably took that spot and pitino probably wanted the security. I would have like Kyle if it worked out. Let’s see where these two guys compare in a couple years.
 
I’ll be the loudest guy beating the drum for not playing two traditional inside bigs at the 4/5. But I do think we may be selling Soriano a little short (impossible I know) with his ability to function 12-16 feet away.

Both short jumpers and a pretty adept passing touch. Makes it easier for another interior guy to exist when they both aren’t limited to block to block.

With that said we will be 100% at our best with Soriano close to the basket.

A lot of overlap between the two. Cruz might actually be a better overall athlete but Kyle’s vertical doesn’t even make sense. Kyle is more of a controlled player at this point too.

If we miss on Dingle or another scholarship opens up, I’d be happy to add him.

Who knows after the knee surgery. He could have the same vertical of Curtis Johnson now, but he soared in high school.

Context, though. Only 1 is likely a starter. An experienced kid who was an all-conference player at that level and who Pitino openly said well before he came to SJU could have played with Clayton as Louisville's starting backcourt when Pitino was there.

The other 3 are more role players/potential rotation guys, it seems. Two of them are young and were pretty touted recruits that other high majors were after -- they were viewed as "scores" for Pitino to get them to Iona, and the only reason they end up in that league as opposed to another high-major is likely because of the Pitino-factor. And the third is a kid who was already at a high major and has followed Pitino since.

Kyle is 6’2”. He has played two games in two years. Even though he was going to be redshirted his freshman year, he did have an injury which required surgery IIRC and then had another surgery last year after two years. I believe it is one surgery for each knee. Hopefully he makes or has made a full recovery but buyer beware due to the injuries.
 
Kyle vs. Dingle, biggest no-brainer possible.

Kyle vs. open spot, you probably take a flyer on him. Unless that Marshall kid from Kentucky who averaged 20, 4.7, and 4.7 has a dad who idolized Rick Pitino.
 
Taking the sentiment of Cuffe Sr. Out of the equation, there is absolutely nothing that makes me want to add Jr. Nothing.

I'm all for nostalgia and loyalty to those who've contributed to our history, but just being on the UK roster isn't enough for me. Stat-wise, Cuffe's no different to me than adding Ayo. I think we need two, at least, mildly impactful players, for the last two scholarships.

Clayton jr, Ledlum, MM, Dingle
People can say whatever they want but of our 4 big targets we are 0-3 so far.
Need big time scorer to give us a chance to make tournament in year 1, which will help in so many regards.

Losing MM is fine that kind of recruit out of our range at the moment. We should be able to grab one of Iona, Penn, Harvard though.

If get, was a successful offseason, if not it really wasn’t at least for recruiting year 1.
