Rick’s Targets

Feel like he would have been gone sooner but perhaps Pitino sees he needs to put that scholarship to use on someone else
Really wondering if Pitino initially thought he could make something of Keita but realized it was just too hard of a road, or whether it was known from the start but both parties agreed to work on game while there were only three kids on campus. (Not sure a coach even does that second one, but Keita was a good kid and there were only three total at practice for quite a while.)

I want to believe that he read the writing on the wall that he would be used sparingly and decided to leave. That's what I want to believe.
Perhaps that is very well what happened. Not sure how much burn he would have been expecting to get this year regardless even when it was only him, Joel, and Drissa on the roster.

Also the one position that hasn't been filled yet is the Backup C position which would be his

Hasn't he still been hurt though? I'm not even sure what's been going on with his injury and if he's been able to practice yet

Like I said, it’s going to get real crowded for Drissa too. If he’s ok with that then I am as well, but more forwards are coming to this roster.

Good point. Posters noted him standing in background of the other two being worked out by Pitino. Don't remember pics of him on court.

I’m just guessing, but I think Pitino expected the two spots at the end of the roster likely wouldn’t matter this much. I’m sure we all thought that two weeks ago. But now keeping Keita means missing out on a kid like Luis or sacrificing depth at key positions.

Yeah, I didn't want to speculate on "who" but Keita or Conway just didn't make sense anymore if Luis was still of interest to us (which he 100% should be)
