Rick’s Targets

Think you split those 3 guards up. Especially if Luis joins.

I think you’d want to space the floor as much as possible for Dingle, who is a dribble-heavy combo. Jenkins is best off the bounce so a good shooter at the 3 is big.

You could also run out Dingle-Alleyne-Taylor for 10-15 minutes. Taylor can pickup some of the slack with his slashing and ball-handling.

Alleyne was a 39% shooter from deep on almost 4 attempts per game over 3 seasons as a starter at Va Tech. Luis and Taylor have never played on good teams. I think it’s a little disrespectful to be looking past Alleyne. I think he’s clearly our second best player at this point, and I’m not sure how close it is after him.

Adding Luis at this point would be a little puzzling. Half our roster can play the 3 and we don’t have a legit backup at the 1, 4, or 5 spots. Our starting 4 at this juncture is also coming off a season-ending injury.

One thing is certain and that is Rick Pitino's last three scholarships will be highly selective. While I would love a MacDingle, Pitino has a half dozen choices on the roster menu to choose from and what a great position to be in compared to 4 weeks ago when a few fans were worried that we couldn't fill the roster to replace the likes of Nywie, Curbelo, Pinzon, Stanley and King.

While I miss Posh, Wusu and Storr, I think the last three commitments will be huge upgrades when comparing last year's team and the restructured Pitino team.

This coach means business and watch out if boosters like Repole open their wallet.

I trust him fully. I’m just questioning the reported interest after Dunlap committed.

Conway, Taylor, and Dunlap are all primarily SF’s, Alleyne is a 2/3, Davis can play some 3, and Slazinski is a 4/3.

Luis is a 15 minute guy next year. I doubt Pitino would be willing to trade depth at the 1, 4, or 5 spots for that.
Luis was a frosh last season who averaged 11 points and they say came on late. Maybe Rick seems him as ready to blow up and maybe better then all those guys you mentioned.

He played 22 mpg for a team that was 6-12 in the A-10. He came on because their leading scorer was ruled out for the season 1/11. They lost 8 of their last 10 games.

He’s definitely not playing over Alleyne and I doubt he’s playing over Taylor. Then you’ve got Conway and Dunlap. Where are the minutes? I think he and Taylor would be redundant to be honest.

Luis would push Conway and Dunlap way down, not a reason not to get him, he’s the better player. Slazinksi as a 3???

Man you and I are way off. He’s a 4/5, no way he’s getting minutes as a 3.

I like Alleyne. Calling him our second best player now isn’t crazy at all, but I wouldn’t.

Would like to have one of our 3 guards be able to come off the bench.

Remember both him and Jenkins will need waivers to play.

All joking aside and you know you are one of few posters I generally like, how often have you seen him play Mase? Or Taylor for that matter?
People saying lists don’t matter and none of us have really seen these kids outside of Alleyne play. Really hard for any of us to really judge or even discuss these kids.

Basically anything other than that dopey “In Rick I trust” thing is people posting about stuff they have no idea about.

So you wanna tell the reigning Big East most improved player who had 25 double doubles to kick rocks because he came to St. John’s from Fordham?

Do you see how silly your argument is?
Again took him a year and everybody hated him the year before.
Btw and I am sure Mase jr can pull this up I blamed Anderson for his struggles but most on here hated him.

Kind of as dopey as “I don’t trust Rick”; I think most here, with the exception of a few, are trusting Pitino’s proven track record with a “let’s at least wait and see” attitude.
Seems to me, one shouldn’t judge players they have never seen play negatively and then criticize others doing the same positively or because they choose not to criticize them until they have seen them play as a team.
Answer to your hearts content if you choose but my one and only comment to you.

Mob mentality
This guy not saying what we are all saying let’s attack him because deep down what he is saying scares us. All of you deep inside before you go to bed secretly question this Stepford fan thing then break into a cold sweat.
And the hits still keep coming! I must say, your posts are entertaining at least. But it is hard not to get whiplash trying to follow your arguments. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

You wouldn’t believe me if I told you. And I’m sure you wouldn’t question it if it was about a guy I didn’t like.

There’s extensive tape of Luis and umass to be found. Not just his highlights. Full games. Team highlights etc. I’d be willing to bet any amount of money that I’ve watched more tape on both of them than anyone here. And that’s not to pat myself on the back, it’s me saying I’m a loser with way too much time on his hands. And because you asked.
