Rick’s Targets

So if that’s the standard we won’t be getting any of the 5-6 kids who have visited in the last week. We’re not Duke to dictate such terms. If we acted like that we might not get anyone as would be the case with almost every school. I’m as impatient as the next guy but to say good riddance to a recruit if he doesn’t commit on us fan’s time table is pure folly. Let the process play out and if the timing is right for the school and the recruit you have a signee.
Some kids pick a commitment date that has significance to them such as a birthday, anniversary of some event or any number of reasons. We need a total of 5-6 guards so by my account we could still take 3 more so if coach is so inclined and it works out with Noah good for both parties. (See what some of you guys made me do-pen a long post which isn’t my want 😊).
Okay Bama,, but it doesn't take that long to count bands of Benjamins does it?!? Lol.

plus first i heard of this not even the twitter trolls are saying that lol new member comes out of the wood works and makes a post. Sorry putting that on the pay no mind list
This is literally on Twitter. Hit the little magnifying glass icon and type words to find it. Several people have told me this as well. Amazing that your are putting me on ignore because it's the "first you've heard". Don't be sorry...I couldn't care less.

It's also updated on the list that started this entire thread posted by Paultzman.

Thank you for using the correct English term "couldn't care less" and not the lazy English, self contradicting term "could care less" which is incorrect.

I think the attitude of expecting players to commit immediately can be justified for most players this cycle. For example, Gardner already committed to St. John's under the previous staff. He then met with Pitino, was told he was wanted, but still reopened his recruitment. I won't fault the staff there. Posh was here for three years, why should Pitino need to heavily re-recruit him after meeting? Noah is only a borderline top 100 transfer who would've been given major minutes here, while the big majority of top transfers have already committed. If he actually takes all of his visits then he'll be one of the last players to commit.

These situations are not at all the same as recruiting a high school player 1-3 years before he'd arrive on campus. In that case then I 100% agree that the students should be given adequate time to take all of their visits. The revamped transfer portal is something new and as long as we have a solid roster next year then I don't mind however many players Pitino passes on. I understand that some players want to draw this out like their high school days, or leverage the highest NIL package possible, but those players are in the minority (again, most players have committed already) and thus may not be the best cultural fit. Also, I'm sure if Pitino thinks he needs to change his strategy then he'll make the proper adjustments in the future.

Well if it’s on Twitter then it must be true!

Right. I'd bet 98% of the people on here get news from twitter though, and tweets are constantly posted here providing updates. I only mentioned it because the first reply I received was in a whiny voice and said "it's not even on twitterrrrr". I don't know if it's true...that's why I posted on a Fan Forum and said "per Frank". Am I missing etiquette or are people here just miserable?

What’s the point of having him dressed up in SJU gear?

Makes it easy to have press pictures already done when the commitment is announced 😏

I’ll say this in all seriousness, the photos don’t indicate a commitment (see WC) but I think it does indicate serious smoke.

If you follow transfer portal recruiting they have a pretty good success rate to eventually leading to a commitment. Case in point, former Johnnies recruit Yaxel Lendenborg committed to UAB an hour after posting his photo op.
