Oh are you also one of us “cantankerous old men” referred to on this site by another poster? Glad I’m not alone!A couple of things:
1. At my age getting prematurely excited is as good as it gets.
2. You forget to add that Pitino could pitch some of the members of this forum that he still knows a thing or two about college basketball.
Count me as another!Oh are you also one of us “cantankerous old men” referred to on this site by another poster? Glad I’m not alone!
You know , of course , that many of us on here are Septuagenarians , like Rick . .Oh are you also one of us “cantankerous old men” referred to on this site by another poster? Glad I’m not alone!

Excellent work on this front , 79! WellSpoke with Jordan..
1) Yes SJU has a legit shot
2) His goal isnt to go to highest bider
3) He got NBA feedback, knows what he needs to work on and wants a coach/system that will help him get there...thus a coach with NBA history/ties imperative
4) EVERY school has contacted him...Indiana, KY aggressive.
He is wearing the number of one of the most talented and classiest players in SJU history.
Truth. He is wearing the number of one of the most talented and classiest players in SJU history.
Woodson also coached the Knicks for a few years including the year they last won a playoff series before this year. And was a successful head coach with Atlanta.Excellent work on this front , 79! Well
Done! We could not have asked more of you .
Well, maybe you could have gotten his commitment . .
Calipari and Woodson both have the NBA experience . Cal and Rick as Coaches . Woodson as a player . Tough competition for this elite player . Let’s hope …

Actually two.
And I'd love it if he followed in their footsteps...

A good time to bring this up. I don't know whether I read it on this site or somewhere else at one point, but rumor was that Malik had a fantastic relationship with Rick Pitino and he would have been a lock for Providence had Pitino not taken the Knicks job right before Malik's senior year at Tolentine. Can anybody confirm or deny this?
For starters, we have a HC that is legitimately, objectively, better than some of those other HC coaches listed. Not because I say so, but because the resumes do. At worst, on a similar level. I liked Mike Woodson on the Knicks, and he’s a respected basketball guy, but his HC resume doesn’t touch RP. There is no coach you can put clearly ahead of RP from a basketball development standpoint. And there are many you can put behind him.At the risk of being despised, what makes anybody think we have a chance with either of those kids? I mean why would Dingle choose us over Indiana or Kentucky? Makes no sense.
Why would Mgbako choose us over Kansas? We are not winning recruiting battles over mediocre schools. Now we’re suddenly going to beat out the likes of Kansas and Kentucky? It’s nice to dream but those of you who are getting excited about this are setting yourselves up for disappointment. It’s not happening.
In fact, I’m so sure it’s not happening that if it does, other than a single post to express my happiness/congratulations and admit that I was wrong , I won’t post on this site again until the season starts.
Great post!Actually two.
