Rasheem Dunn Waiver Denied (APPEAL WON)

Nov 8th is last day for CSU to respond to info submitted in the process by SJU.

Meanwhile, back on the ranch, the University of Kansas basketball team, facing not one, not two, but Three NCAA level 1 violations was celebrated last night appearing on ESPN from MSG. The accusations which have been around for almost a year may not result in any action until July 2020.

However, Rasheem Dunn, will now be penalized a 2nd season of eligibility all for the sin of transferring after the Coach who recruited him was fired. Immediately. I mean Dunn is the real issue facing the NCAA. Must be nice to be mighty Kansas. How dare anyone even think that 2019 revenue be impacted. Let’s hope by July they all forget so maybe we can dumb down the penalties to keep the train rolling.

:) That’s on my birthday

:unsure: Then I remembered those comments I said to him on Twitter.

I plan on standing out front of the NCAA headquarters this Friday with a “Free Rasheem Dunn” Poster until getting escorted off the grounds, will likely try to get an Indy Star reporter to return a favor and get some local shaming out of it.

Indy, we need evidence! Bring your iPhone. Maybe work on your Battier flop as they escort you out. :lol:

Fingers crossed for this kid. Embarrassing and pathetic stance by the Cleveland State AD.

I hope you're correct (and trust your scoops), but Zach said on Twitter yesterday that day 1 was "today", which would make business day 10 two weeks from yesterday. How confident are you?

Zach article excerpt;

“After his waiver was initially denied by the NCAA on Oct. 27, St. John’s produced new information last week, leading to a review process.

Now the NCAA “requires” a response to that new information from Cleveland State, Dunn’s former school, according to a statement St. John’s provided to The Post.

Cleveland State has 10 working days to respond. If the waiver is denied, St. John’s can still appeal. Dunn would lose a full year of eligibility unless this decision changes.“

My impression was upon receipt of new info CSU has 10 business days to respond per above. My assumption is the material was sent last week to CSU and clock commenced. Perhaps I am wrong, but that seems logical. I do know SJU was hopeful a response would occur this week. In any event, I remain optimistic on process outcome.

We are talking about the NCAA here...nothing logical about it. ;)

Well November 1 was last week so you both could be right. Given that in most public environments next Monday is not a "working" day if it was indeed Nov 1 that could give CSU to Nov 18 to respond.

The Barstool guys did this a few years back with “Free Tom Brady” signs at the NFL headquarters. They all ended up getting arrested lol

Are these NCAA working days? If so, this might not get resolved for a few months

This looks like Cleveland State being pissed about the sanctions the NCAA will give them over the Kansas violations, and taking their anger out on SJU.

Six degrees of corrupt NCAA separation.

If I don’t see a taser being applied, then you didn’t bring your A game.

Despite our long history of disappointments, I’m pretty optimistic that the waiver comes through, sooner rather than later. Optically, this looks horrible for the NCAA. And I have full confidence that our AD, who is well qualified, is personally pushing this forward.

The NCAA (and Cleveland State) just need to have the ability to save face. Hopefully, the recent submission of the “new information” will allow them to do so. My speculative prediction, we’ll hear something by mid-week next week.

Vitale;

It is time for @CSU_Athletics to do what is RIGHT & inform the @NCAA that they would approve granting Rasheem Dunn immediate eligibility . The AD must understand that we should Help not hurt kids . Coach who recruited Rasheem was FIRED.@StJohnsBBall @NYPost_Brazille
