Rasheem Dunn Waiver Denied (APPEAL WON)
Did this second CSU player denied today sit out a year like Dunn?
Nope he’s a freshman. Sit one play three.

high powered lawyers & nastiness - only thing NCAA understands other than money...

No, he was a freshman, and I believe he was the first out the door while Felton was still coach. That began the stampede. Rasheem bolted only after Felton was fired.

Players commit To coache’s, when the coach leaves a player should be able to transfer his credits or if the coach leaves before the school yr started he should be also allowed it’s not like a player commits and everything stays " and then wants out that’s different

So will this be a "Dunn Deal" or "All Dunn" by early next week?

And if the NCAA does not change its ruling, we can go with "Dunn-ied."

Apologies, just trying to get a jump on the corny headlines

FWIW, Geno Auriemma on the NCAA waiver process:

“We were notified today that the waiver was denied, which is rather unfortunate for Evina obviously, "It’s unfortunate that a student athlete’s life is being impacted by a committee sitting in Indianapolis making a decision on whether or not someone meets these arbitrary requirements, whether or not you can play or not right away.”
“You start to wonder,” Auriemma said, “do people who work at the NCAA actually have any idea what goes on on campuses? Or should this decision be actually made by people who are on campuses, people who have coached, people who have been administrators?”
“I was surprised for many reasons but mostly because the NCAA talks to us about serving the best interest of the student. It recognizes that there are situations in which a student shouldn’t have to sit out a year. It tells us what those are and what is required to prove it. And then you provide that — without opposition from the prior school — and you get denied.”
Geno went on to say that the only reason a school should not support a waiver for a player who transfers out is if that player lied to or brought disgrace to the school. Said he has never had occasion to not support a waiver and never has, including Elean Delle Donne who transferred out of UConn to Delaware a very short time after arriving at Storrs.

Can we get a sit down between Cedric Jackson and the CSU AD?

Hartford Currant headline
Auriemma Rips NCAA decision!!!
The waiver request of former Tennessee player Evina Westbrook that would have granted her immediate eligibility for the UConn women’s team was denied by NCAA...UConn will file an appeal.

Auriemma:
It’s unfortunate that a student athlete’s life is being impacted by a committee in Indianapolis ( with their ) arbitrary criteria!

Amen.

It's the lack of transparency combined with blatant bias that gives freebies to its favorite programs on wafer-thin rationale while holding student athletes at other programs hostage to a level of withering inconsistency that is as mind-boggling as it is infuriating

On Tenn. waiver denial for transfer from ASU;

“Plavsic left his native Serbia in 2017 and played high school basketball at Hamilton Heights in Chattanooga, where his host family still lives.

He committed to Cleveland State, then flipped to Arizona State to follow assistant coach Drazen Zlovaric, who also is from Serbia, to ASU. Plavsic redshirted last season, after which Zlovaric was no longer on the ASU staff — a reason UT coach Rick Barnes believed supports Plavsic's case for a waiver.”

So CSU had nothing to do with this one. This was a far weaker case than Dunn's. Bobby Hurley is still the head coach and ASU is not exactly imploding.
Btw Quade Green ruled immediately eligible at UW after leaving Kentucky

Unreal
How is his case any different from Steere's. It's not like he went back home or anything. He felt he got recruited over and left same as Steere.

A total crock ruling by the NCAA. Green played in 9 games last season, averaging 17.6 mpg. How in hell can the NCAA justify this yet rule-to-the-letter of the regs on Micah Potter and Ian Steere.
Hypocrites to the core.
