Simon pulled off a strange double double. Thirteen points and Ten turnovers. Also had Nine assists, six rebounds and four steals. He had a lot to do out there today and like everyone battled all game.
Add to the above Justin Simon played all 40 minutes of the game.

Came Up Short Today Unfortunately But We Appreciate The Amount Of Love & Support That Was In The Dunkin Arena w MJM & 114 boys Today! See You In The BIG EAST TOURNEY REDSTORMNATION!!! THANKS ONCE AGAIN... #sjubb
In the face of all the noise and disruption this season surrounding the team, and the very thin bench, something special may be happening...for next year and the future.

I was at the game and after Trimble got pulled in the first half 45 seconds later Coach told him to go back in and Trimble refused to go in. On the other side Justin Cole came in the 2 half and played a heck of a game on defense for them. #sjubb
.... if true, with Trimble refusing to reenter the game after Mullin directed him makes it likely that Trimblw will be a transfer this year.
If this is true he should be suspended, regardless of the upcoming B.E. Tournament. . No way he refuses to enter the game.In my first year as a varsity coach my star player, a senior by the way, refused to go back in a scrimmage game against a local school. In fact he gave me a wave like leave me alone. I told him to get dressed and threw him off the team. Weeks later he apologized and I allowed him to return. After his graduation from college he became an Industrial Arts teacher in my school. At my retirement party he thanked me for helping him learn a big lesson in life. Suspend Trimble! And once again if true he will not return next year.
I heard st jean got on him for being out of position on D and causing someone else to foul helping out . After that he was never seen from again .
Really thought we had no chance today, especially since I don't like the way we line up with Providence but they were very beatable today
If anyone told me we would hold Carthwright to 10 points and Lindsey to 4, I would have expected a victory
Thought White and Watson sparked the Friars
Cooley made a wise decision stopping their three point shooting and switched to an inside game henceforth resulting in points in the paint .
Have to do better off turnovers in the first half only scoring 2 points on fast breaks
To our credit we certainly make teams play ugly against us
Thought we waited too long to get the ball inside to Clark
I love Simon but look forward to having Dixon at point next year
Guys gave their all, that's all we can ask
So first LoVett, now Trimble, and then possibly Ponds. Think we can finally offer Luther Muhammad some serious PT?
What time is the Optimists Club meeting redken?

With a minute left, St. John's trailed by 5 and opted not to foul. These are the kind of late-game decision that we've seen all year and are perplexing. #sjubb

They fouled plenty toward the end. I disagree with Zach’s assessment.
Just a couple of thoughts/observations:
1-IF this Trimble bs is true, he should be suspended immediately and be required to apologize to his coaches and teammates before returning. IF TRUE, it is absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances. Dude is a FRESHMAN, wow just wow.
2- What's up with Yakwe? Why is he sitting on the bench? If he's sick, he's sick. Stay at the hotel or wherever. Team is short handed and he can't even dress for emergency?? Man this is a different time.
3- Year after year we seem to be an iron man team. 6 maybe 7 scholarship athletes. Somehow/some way we need to make sure this doesn't happen again. Other teams don't seem to have this problem as often as we do.
This was a pretty good effort by the kids who really want to be here. They played tough given the shorthanded circumstances. Sometimes it gets lost with some of the sideshow around here.

Injury Update: Georgetown's Marcus Derrickson (15.7 PPG, 8.1 RPG) is OUT for today's game against Villanova due to a right ankle injury. The junior's been one of the Hoyas' best players. Tip coming up on @FOXTV. #HoyaSaxa
He should sit for our game & not jeopardize his pro career
if thats true about Trimble- he needs to be straightened out. The problem is "some people" on this team only care about themselves. We have some talented players who are great athletes, but if they don't put the team first we will never win. This is shaping up to be another disaster off season with ANOTHER complete make over. This needs to stop. The instability is reeking havoc on our program. We are gonna be left short of personnel AGAIN next year with schollys left to offer. That will lay purely on staff. When will this vicious cycle end?

I think fouling ‘strategically’ when we’re ahead by a few points late in the game (which we rarely do) makes sense.
But not to foul ‘categorically’ when we’re behind late in a game. Depends if other team is delaying game and depends on whom to foul. Fouling like that usually inflates ‘the enemy’s’ score.
