@Providence, Sat. Mar. 3, 12 NOON, FOX SN (YES?), 570AM

Before we take his uniform away let’s see what the story is. He has exhibited no nonsense all season.

Trimble has played a ton of time for a freshman, so he really has no beef. If he had a hissy fit, keep it in context. Impulsively suggesting he transfer flies in face of trying to reduce roster churn. If Mullin feels he is a problem, let him do what he has to do, If not let’s move on.

It was strange that Trimble got limited playing time in the Butler game as well. Suggests that whatever is going on with him was not limited to just today.

Sound wisdom from our Asian-mystic man. Let’s see what comes down and hope it was “a hissy fit” and can be overlooked. God knows, we need roster stability.

With 1.4 seconds remaining and going the length of the floor down by 4.... I doubt it. It still would've been a long trey, and Providence would've allowed him to shoot the ball being they were up by 4.
Even if the likelihood of this happening is 1 in 100,000 why not try?

I thought he has been injured. So this puzzles me.

Providence was 18-25 from the stripe. We were 6-10.

I watched Trimble in warm-ups on Wednesday night and he spent most of time at center court hanging by the ball rack. With a sleeve on one of his legs, I thought he was injured (nowadays wearing the sleeve doesn’t mean your injured but the not warming up and the sleeve gave me reason to think it). He wound up playing.

Maybe he is made because he didn’t get the starts with Ponds out the last two games and getting pulled quickly just made him madder. Could be something else or maybe it is nothing and he is injured. We will find out soon enough. Hopefully, it is nothing.

This is true?

You know this to be true?
I am starting to wonder if Yawke was really sick.
Maybe its just this generation.
Game ended and all I could thing of is I hope SJU never plays a game so short handed again. I hope Ponds day to day injury is not similar to LoVetts and if we can beat Geo and Ponds and Yakme can play vs Xav perhaps the quick turnaround can be overcome.
Right now the team is playing its best defense and with a healthy Ponds at MSG who knows?
Wasn’t able to folllow game...just saw score and enjoying these posts. Always so many sterling, insightful ones. Do we have a good group of fellow fans or what?
( forgett-abouddit! lol)

Enright yep “ best defense” now, improving, and wasn’t defense a game major shortcoming not long ago?
1.Progress yes!

And another close single digit - very single - loss without a bench, heck w/o 5 BE starters.
2.Effort, yes!
3.Conditionng, yes!

And overall despite disappointments and, whatever, with recruiting...over all we have some nice kids coming AND who seem to want to be here.
4.Decent recruiting results, yes!

Aka Walt Whitman’s “Says I to myself” (preaching to me nor others) with a blend of optimistic and realistic perspective, I am satisfied with where our beloved Chris Mullin and company are taking us.

Of course let’s enjoy next week.
BUT bring on 2018-19. Could be a hell of a year.

Thanks and sad to hear about Trimble.

When I saw Yakwe sitting on the bench next to Shamorie, I couldn't help thinking if he has a stomach virus, why is he sitting next to our best player...

The over-riding question is not Trimble (although that is important), but how bad is Shamorie’s ‘abdomen strain’ and will he be healed and ready for the BET.
Because if he is, the tournament may turn out to be very special for St. John’s.

21 fouls called on us and 12 on the Friars
We committed four fouls intentionally in the last minute. I think Providence was 8-8 from the line. That made the final numbers a little more lopsided then they actually were.

I was at the game and after Trimble got pulled in the first half 45 seconds later Coach told him to go back in and Trimble refused to go in. On the other side Justin Cole came in the 2 half and played a heck of a game on defense for them. #sjubb
.... if true, with Trimble refusing to reenter the game after Mullin directed him makes it likely that Trimblw will be a transfer this year.
If this is true he should be suspended, regardless of the upcoming B.E. Tournament. . No way he refuses to enter the game.In my first year as a varsity coach my star player, a senior by the way, refused to go back in a scrimmage game against a local school. In fact he gave me a wave like leave me alone. I told him to get dressed and threw him off the team. Weeks later he apologized and I allowed him to return. After his graduation from college he became an Industrial Arts teacher in my school. At my retirement party he thanked me for helping him learn a big lesson in life. Suspend Trimble! And once again if true he will not return next year.
