Providence Game Thread

Getting killed on the boards and giving up double digit points on offensive rebounds to every team every game is on the coaching staff. We rebound we move on. No excuses given the size and quickness on this team.

Kind of like our season, dug a big hole & couldn't get out.

Btw, Karr is a lousy finisher. Sorry! He needs to get stronger.

Pathetic effort by a pathetic coach and a pathetic team. Players that look like cyo shooters on the foul line. Achiua has no concept of what it means to make a foul shot. He does not belong on a division one level basketball team. Others, like Sampsom, look like they could care less about making a foul shot. Defense, as I have stated before, is totally unorganized and looks like no one coaches them. Steve Lavin makes indiscriminate substitutions at the most ridiculous times. This time of the year you go with your best, just not anyone. Greene, Achiua, Pointer....do not belong on the floor at this time of the year unless absolutely necessary. This program is going no where fast. They are not even worthy of being in the NIT. Everyone will try to talk about the great come back....where was the effort all game long ??? When is someone going to make foul shots ??? When is the team going to play defense all game long ??? Another horrible year of sitting home while others go to the tournament.

Anybody see Sir Dom the last part of this season? Wow.. Lost soul.. Give Jordon lot's of kudos for the effort. Rest of the team not so much..

NIT bound. It is what it is. No recruits next year as of now - kinda disappointing season.. Lavin outcoached today.

Game symbolic of entire season. Dug ourselves too deep a whole to come back from.

Sucks.

Dug ourselves too big of a hole. Sampson's missed layup changed the complexion during the last 50 or so seconds.

Everyone involved with this program from Lavin on down to the players should embarrassed and ashamed at this performance today with so much on the line.

Come on ! This is no big surprise deep down we all knew that there were deficiencies Perhaps they played up to their abilities. Rather than go crazy I am looking forward to the NIT and for all the players too come back next yr and for coach to come u p with recruits to help us advance next yr

We dont have any recruits coming in next year

Too much talk all season long about how talented this team is. We're not what the media made us out to be. We have an exceptionally talented freshman in Jordan. Harrison has incredible basketball ability, but lacks a defined role and often plays out of control, Obekpa is a great shot blocker (and that's it), Sampson has flashes of a greatness and clearly has some next level skills but his game is unrefined, and rarely puts together a complete effort from start to finish. The rest are bench players on nearly any other top 50 D1 team. Our best chance is that Lavin continues to recruit well. This was not a group destined for the NCAA tourney.

I will beat MJD to this; easy to say but how was he outcoached? We played hard 5 minutes out of 40. Now the copout is they are his players, etc......but this game was on the players. You LIVE to play in games like this and to play indifferently for most of the game is just something I can't understand.

Worst state of affairs for NYC basketball I can remember. Overhyped players, bad basketball, no recruits or draft picks on the horizon.

Won 500 dollars on PC to protect against utter disappointment. Felt if we won this we'd be dancing but we haven't performed under pressure at all this season. Look at the Xavier game two weeks ago. We've lacked an identity all year long and it showed against any opponent worth their salt.
