Providence Game Thread

What are the chance Cooley bolts from PC in next year or so?? The Friars haven't been exactly known for paying the going rate.

That would be a shame. He has done a real good job there

Born and raised there.
Great marriage.
STJ should be so lucky.
I think he's hands down the best coach in the conference.

Providence playing well. Cotton pressing a little. Missed a few shots around the rim.

I agree.

After losing by a whopping 61 points to Louisville the other night, Rutgers should be offering him a $5 year, $8million contract if they ever hope to win a game in The Big 10.

After much deliberation as to why we lost, it wasn't because of a missed three pointer (Harrison), or missed two pointer (Sampson), or one pointers (free throws) it was because we were done in by a zero Pointer (SirDomnick)

I guess you can add Nobekpa

+1 :)

I think a big part of the reason we lost this game is that providence played pretty well. I know it's hard to give other teams credit, but they are solid, well coached team. They showed it in the tournament.

That's an interesting concept. The other team might be good. Even better than us. It's not just that the players suck, are lazy or the coaches are clueless and fat.

Unfortunately what makes it even harder to digest was the fact that Cotton was injured and in foul trouble, and way off his game. I believe this is one of the first times he actually came out all season. With them usually only going 6 or 7 deep, it was the perfect opportunity for us.

And the guy can recruit
In addition to what you see on the floor, look at the guys he brought in that never played for Providence (ie: Ledo, Dunn)
Also, brought in two transfers that have become important rotation guys (Harris and Derosiers)
Cotton, Batts and Henton have improved a great deal under his watch
Cooley is the whole package!!

The loss and season was a lot easier to purge when I realized we went 2-7 against the top of the league. Unfortunately that record exposes us as pretenders for the dance. Next year, next year. All we need is Jordan to emphatically tell Dlo - you just get to your spot and I'll get you the ball.

Just as you said along with Jordan and Harrison average 35 min a game and someone who can make a shot from 18 ft be in the corner to get Jordan's pass if Harrison is covered.
Unfortunately that player is not yet on the roster.

I'll take Sampson from 15 and in. Now if we can get a rough-tough rebounder. Maybe Michael Graham has a son or two, or still ahs a year of eligibility.
