People still don't get it.  SJU's league rankings at the end of the season.

Scoring offense- 1st
shooting % 4th
3pt % -4th
FT % -3rd

This sju team is at the top of the league in quite a few offensive categories.  Some defensive as well, but sju fans aren't used to seeing the offensive numbers.  It's why we can always come back, and have.

That and we have the ability to wear teams down which happened tonight as well as against Providence. We just need to remember that the key to winning is to attack not settle for 3s. Once we started taking it at them they started having to play defense. We got to the foul line and made them, put doubt in their heads and just beat them down.

And, played very good defense on Mamu in 2nd half.

I haven’t gone through the thread so I’m sure a lot of you have said the things I’m gonna say.

Wusu: wow, what a 2nd half from this guy. We are extremely lucky to have him. He’s a damn freshman for Christ’s sake.

Earlington: Ice water. He’s just a calming presence. He turns into a beast when we need him.

Champaigne: I had no idea what we were getting when we got him. He’s the guy. He wants the responsibility and he flourishes usually when he has it.

McGriff: kudos. Like he’s been playing all season. Kinda impressive to just jump off the bench like that.

Williams: back injuries are horrible. I’ve had problems with sciatica, it’s fuckin painful. Stepped up tonight and lately.

Cole: couple of big baskets tonight. Splashed them too. He’ll be useful for one more year.

Dunn: couple of horrible turnovers but he still had a couple of huge drives during the comeback.

Just ecstatic. A couple BE tourney wins would be awesome.

Per Jaden Daly

Mike Anderson on Dylan Addae-Wusu: “I tell ya, I love Dylan’s passion. That tells you what kind of young man he is, and he’s gonna have a bright future in a St. John’s uniform.” #sjubb

Toro gave us exactly what we needed tonight in Moore's absence. Solid D and a few big boards. And he didn't hurt us at all. I say he gets the game ball.

That's a stretch...but I'm in too good a mood to argue the point.

Dylan is a baller, sure he makes mistakes, but the kid is a true freshman. He will learn. His got nice form from the perimeter and can take it to the rack with the best of them. His upper body strength will allow him to get many and-1's down the road. That roll was lucky on that 3 point shot, but having the proper rotation on the ball allowed him to get the shooters touch.

Roger Rubin;

On the conference’s three big awards and an argument can be made for someone from St. John’s for each: Champagnie for Player of the Year, Alexander for Freshman of the Year and Anderson for Coach of the Year. #sjubb

Not sure what happened but have to give CMA credit as a leader and role model. . .with no margin for error re: NCAA he sticks to his values.

pretty crazy. I give him a ton of credit. It’s old school, but let’s face it, 95% of this board is, myself included. I know I’ve been benched for not boxing out. Made to go outside and run in the snow because I screwed a drill up. Kudos, coach.

Moore has been a dunking machine playing near the basket for a while now. Tonight in 3 minutes playing time his only stats were 0-2 from 3 point land. Coach took him out. Now if that was all there is based on observing how coach coaches Moore would have been given another chance to reenter the game, The fact that he wasn't and coach stated in post game presser that it was a coaches decision (and the fact he was suspended for a game previously) leads me to believe that Mr. Moore exhibited some form of a negtive attitude when he was pulled from the game. They don't call me Sherlock for nothing.

We won the battle of the boards, 33-32.

Thank you Fox for not showing the first 7 minutes-might have thrown something through my TV and not been able to watch the great game that started after we spotted SH 18points.  Truly a collective team win.  They kept Mamu in check tonight.  They also held own on the boards with gang rebounding.  Was it me or were the rims like "sewers" as we used to say in the playground--don't know how some of our shots went in.

There's no doubt the kids got some rim jobs tonight.

Ever since the refs stole the figgy steal game from us this seton hall team has gnawed at me so much.  This was one of the most satisfying if not the most satisfying win I've seen from St. John's for me.  Add to it the amazing comeback from 18-0 down.   Thanks for a great game fellas!!
