(POST GAME) Seton Hall, Sat., Mar. 6, 7p, FS-1 / 570 AM WMCA

Just a fabulous, gutty, gutsy win.  Kind of glad now we missed the 18-0 start.  Given Posh and for whatever reason Moore, were out, contributions across the board.  Never thought I would see Toro and even McGriff add anything to this team.  I still have the vision of McGriff bodying Mamu and keeping him out of the paint!  Solid games from Wusu and Earlington, although they both scare me handling the ball.  Thought Cole had some good moments, and key hoops, Josh gave us some good time down below on defense, and Dunn and WIlliams were big during the comeback.  Champ is Champ.  I thought he was winded at the end of the 1st half and wondered how much he could contribute in the 2nd half, but it's obvious he got his second wind.  Great job by the TEAM. Coach has to be COY.  The only question I have is what the heck happened with Moore?

Toro gave us exactly what we needed tonight in Moore's absence. Solid D and a few big boards. And he didn't hurt us at all. I say he gets the game ball.

Couldn't get the beginning of the game due to car race on FS1, what happened to Moore? Is he hurt?

When the auto racing was over and the game came on and I saw the score was 17-0, I thought I had the wrong channel and turned on a football game.

These kids are so much fun to watch. Their games are never boring, that's for sure
They have lots of grit, moxie and determination
They reflect the personality of their coach, who should be the BE Coach of the Year

so what is the consensus .....  is it better for St. John's if Marquette or Xavier wins ?

People still don't get it.  SJU's league rankings at the end of the season.

Scoring offense- 1st
shooting % 4th
3pt % -4th
FT % -3rd

This sju team is at the top of the league in quite a few offensive categories.  Some defensive as well, but sju fans aren't used to seeing the offensive numbers.  It's why we can always come back, and have.

Fell behind 18-0,and still shot 52% from 2 and 46% from 3.  And won the rebounding war by 1, and 81% FTs. Whew!

I didn't see beginning either. Not sure if it was behavioral
or an injury

It really boils down to if you think st johns can get in by getting to the BET finlas or if u think they have to win it.

If you think they just have to get to the BET finals, then you want Xavier/Nova.

If you think they have to win the BET finlas, then u want Seton Hall/Nova

Thank you NASCAR for letting me miss the 18-0 start. Some things I do not need to see for myself. What I did see was very enjoyable. Great game. I'm assuming Moore did something Anderson really didn't like while the left turns were still going on.

Hopefully Posh can make it back by Thursday, the draw at six seemed way worse than the draw at 4/5.  For now, a good bourbon is in order as my annual goal for the team of escaping the Wednesday night BE games has finally occurred.

Congrats to this team who have seriously outperformed expectations.

We win Thursday and Friday we are absolutely in. Love this team and this coach!!

I agree.  And avoiding the Creighton/Uconn side of the bracket is soooooooo huge.

think it was wise that Anderson, gave all 10 players decent playing time this year. Really helped tonight with Toro and McGriff giving us strong minutes. am ready to give Anderson an extension, he deserves with what he has accomplished this year, with a young team.

This is the one style of play, IMO, that justifies a very deep rotation, and constant subbing.

Most teams more or less plan the first half of their games WRT those things anyway, but I think, in this style, it's even more important to do so.  Can be frustrating at times, but it has to be done.  The rewards pay off down the road.

Great win. It has been fantastic to watch this team win when Dunn was hurt, then when Williams was hurt then when Posh was out.

Why is the Big East being viewed so poorly? This has been a very difficult season and how much weight can be put into non conference games. It was only one game but Marquette just went to UNC and won easily. I can see by watching that the Big Ten is a very strong conference but the ACC really doesn't look any better then the Big East.

Already a successful season and moving toward being a successful program - like we once were

(I wonder when not if we have our next Mike Anderson can't coach and can't recruit etc.)
all good tonight
happy for coaches, staff, players and
US!

I think I'd rather play Xavier than play Seton Hall on Thursday. It will be tough to beat a team two games in a row. Seton Hall has better big men in Mamu and Obiagu which normally gives us trouble , plus Seton Hall will have the revenge factor going. I know we trounced them in the second half tonight but I still think they're a worse matchup for us than Xavier.

I agree with you in general, but Seton Hall looks very down right now.  Xavier does too, but if they come back in this game, they'll probably look a whole lot better.

Either way, we did our part, so I can't worry about it too much.

It doesn't matter who we play. Both teams will hurt us inside like everyone else. Its going to be about us making shots. But in terms of the more quality opponent, a win over X will be better than a sliding Hall.
