We really need 1 drop dead shooter that you can’t leave open even if he doesn’t play great D. Just need to play him enough so that teams can’t continually pack it in on us. The middle is clogged because they don’t have to cover 19% 3 point shooting team.

We are young and the result doesn’t surprise me. I think there will be nights we shout well and win and conversely like today where we do not shoot well and lose. I think going 500 this year would be a step in the right direction. Seems like it will be a slow ascent to the top of the league but I believe in CMA.

Case in point I would trade Toro, Roberts, Earlington and Caraher if you told me SJU lands Kyle Cuffe Jr in a few days. Not to knock those kids they are good kids. But again I keep being told SJU has great depth. No they have bodies not the same thing.

We need shooters. 4-21 from 3 will not win many games especially without inside game. We win games on days when 3 is falling.

I’m disappointed with the in game coaching-adjustments, subs, TO usage, etc.

At the moment, after you get past Champ, you have mostly a group of nice role player. Mostly. Maybe some of them step up as the season progresses, but as of right now we are a middle-bottom heavy team, if you will. And i prefer my teams, like I prefer my women, to be top heavy.

I don’t disagree here. We have varying levels of talent. The depth helps, but we need more front end talent. I think a kid like Pinzon is going to be a big addition next to Champs. I think kids like Traore and Stanley are going to be able to give us more up front than guys like Toro, Roberts etc because talent level is growing. We have a good base, but we are young and need more young high end offensive talent. A Cuffe Jr, Applewhite, etc.

I do like our overall depth but we need a few more Champagnie-types with that sort of upside to start getting really good. Need to grow our talent level, and I hope for the 21 class we can still add some offensive firepower.

Not enough learning. We get beat like hell off the dribllel.....All we do is the weave on top of the key.

Brutal game. I thought our shot selection was horrible. I know we aren't a great shooting team, but at least get good looks. Also Mamu is a very good player, very skilled...but it was too easy for him. He got too many clean looks. He was blowing by Julian and Toro all night. Wusu did a decent job late in the game on him but by that point the damage was done.

On a positive note I thought Dunn looked good. Considering he missed games and the season opener he played poorly. Going to need his minutes because the freshmen and the jucos need some time to adjust to Big East play.

Gtown is going to be a problem for us. I think their size gives them an advantage.

When you are down 6 points with 2 to 3 minutes to play it is time for 3 point shots. You need to toss Caraher in there with Cole as having only 1 shooter let's the other team focus on him.

Disappointed. Was expecting more, but we don’t have the talent to go deep into the bench.

As I scroll thru the comments much is said about our poor defense. Agreed.

GWill is one of the few players with game. He is too good of a player not to shoot. He meanders around the 3 point line for the first 4 or 5 minutes before looking for his first shot. He is one of the few players who can hit the three and also drive to the basket. DO IT.

I hope pinzon , Traore, and Stanley come right in as freshmen and make noise.
We need a cuffe to come right in and score.
Just yesterday marq added a 4* kid, why can't we?

That and the thought was SHU starting guard was going to play. As the Hall made announcements of him not practicing full and inside info came out, the line adjusted

Only time Caraher should be in final 2-3 min, is when we are up by 25, or down by 25, or everyone else fouled out. He's 23.9% in SJU uniform from three range.

I'll take my chances with any of the other guys camped out for a 3, with exception of Roberts, and maybe Toro.

Where’s the intensity and passion? It’s almost like we’re comfortable being down 10 and keeping it close.

As fans are we expecting that this is a typical Anderson team. Struggle early in conference and make a run late?

Nope I'm expecting a good team from beginning to end, and I'm expecting that next year.
You'll have his guys from last and this year for experience next year. You'll have a few nice nice pieces coming next year.
So there should be no excuses next year

First let's see what we do this year.

Why is it time to take shots behind the arc in a six point game with two or three minutes remaining?

When has Caraher shown he's a reliable shooter behind the arc?

This game was a case of allowing one player to have his way with you and having no plan to slow him down. That falls on the coaches.
It also showed how far Posh needs to go to become a Big East point guard. Zero assists and never was able to set up shooters like Cole and Williams who have a difficult time creating their own shot.
Is Moore in the dog house to the extent that Roberts starts yet both were completely non factors against the biggest team in the conference? Coach Anderson is obviously making room for the new 6'10 forward who plays defense.
This loss was on everyone from coaches players.
But then again, these are really just high level scrimmages being used to prepare for next season.
