Observations:
Guards: Another outstanding game for Posh whose decision making continues to improve along with his 3 ball. Dunn played well but his limitations are what they are and aren't going to get fixed. With Williams out (and how that hampers us has gone remarkably unremarked upon), he had to play big minutes and overall he was productive. Wusu did the things he's been doing all year when he gets the minutes to do them. But he still ahould have dropped the ball back to Julian for an open 3 on his highlight reel play (which also should have been an and-1).
Bigs: Coach showed tremendous confidence in Josh putting him back in with 2 fouls halfway thru the first half and Josh rewarded that confidence by not picking up his third. Toro has now taken up occupancy in Josh's former doghouse quarters. Moore played well and it's a shame the staff did not find a way to get him on the floor with Josh to match up with the size and length of John and Garcia. Unfortunately Moore hit a 3 which predicably led to another try. Marcellus took bad shots in the first half but provided valuable paint physicality in the second half after what was presumably some coaching.
Wings: Julian is starting to become more aggressive with taking contested shots and looking for his opportunities. It would be nice to see somety, anything, run for him. Cole played his best game, another example of Anderson's effort to show confidence being rewarded.
The team still has maturity issues as shown by the bad shot choices with the lead in first half and then giving back the whole lead. Anderson gave them every opportunity to play thru it before he finally called a time out. But both his first half and second half timeouts stopped the bleeding and swung the game back their way.
Overall it's a road win on a game without an important starting player, and a good gutsy effort that shows growth and progress.
It seems like only 4 games ago there were people here saying we wouldn't be favored in another game all year and/or we would be lucky to win another game. Now, crickets.
We aren't a top 10 or even a top 25 team. We are a work in progress. But we are working and we are making progress.
Lastly, MJ Maher said it best: Julian is my Xanax too. The one player on the team that does not give me anxiety and who calms me down since I know the chances of him doing something unwise are minimal. Great analogy
