I havnt lost hope on the season yet and still think we can beat close to anyone on given night but that was tough. Very tough. There isn’t a player in the BE that’s given the big FU to St John’s more than Femi. Shit if we blow this season a lot can be credited to him completely dominating us for two games we should have one, let alone what he could have done to help us this year had he chosen sju.
Beat who on any night? A Division 3 team? A JUCO? We have no chance against a team with size. None.

Marquette has size. Creighton has size. Georgetown has size. Let’s not pretend as if we’re not equally as likely to play well as we are poorly.
We've been a paper tiger all year because our bad OOC schedule made us look way better than we really are. Our 20 wins would really be like 15-16 if we played real competition like Seton Hall. We suck...but that doesn't mean refs don't too. We were blowing them out until refs took over if anyone remembers.

1-7 against any team with any decent sized bigs (Georgetown, Xavier, Providence, DePaul and Duke). Most haven't been close games, either.

Marquette bigs aren't really a threat to score, and the Hauser kids are more perimeter and finesse-oriented.

You don't win games in the first 5 minutes of play. Ask Nova against us in the Garden. Stuss got ridiculously hot and shot the hell out of the ball.

Agreed, but there is size and there are teams that have rugged size and just pound away. Those are the teams we have trouble with because we have a team with no physical toughness whatsoever. I actually think the three freshman Roberts , Williams and Earlington are the only ones with any balls on this team. They just don’t have the experience

He shoots 40 overall and 35% from 3 for the season. He certainly was off the charts today, but he was shooting over a 6'2 Trimble and a 6'3" Williams for parts of the game. He will probably go 3 for 8 next game.

Fair, but John and the transfer from Nebraska are big boys. What about Krempelj?

Our wins are against finesse teams. Anyone who pounds the offensive glass owns us. As Casey Stengel used to say, "You could look it up".
My biggest fear is we really blow this year then Mullin resigns, were back to square 1 AGAIN!
Depends on who you bring in. Besides, I only view Mullin as mediocrity anyhow. We may have a year here and there that might get fans giddy, but I don't sense anything positive to be sustainable with him at the helm.
We're wasting time. Unless he can pull a rabbit or two outta his ass per recruiting, then cut the chord.

I mentioned the bigs from Marqutte, but they aren't a threat to score.
Krempelj is somewhat finesse as well. He's also not as athletic as the bigs from the.other teams mentioned either.
Bad loss today, no question. The most frustrating thing about this Jekyll and Hyde team is they play down to their competition. It's how we can look like world beaters against the top of the league and pedestrian against the rest that makes it incredibly frustrating.
Looking at the bright side: we still have a significant opportunity to finish 9-9 and be the 3rd seed in the BET with a tough but winnable game v. Xavier after 6 days off. Should give Ponds and Heron an opportunity to heal up a bit. And were conformably "In" on every pundit's bracket.
All is not lost. It would sure be nice if our opponents best players would stop having career nights against us.
I must say, I actually thought Mullin was going to bring star power in terms of recruits. If Matt is the one that's bringing in the talent via transfers/juco, Mullin's coaching isn't cutting it. I think his style could work if we actually had a legit roster. It's ridiculously obvious that you need somewhat of a balanced roster in regard to positioning. Even if we somehow make it the tourney, we're getting smoked 1st round. Real teams expose fake teams. This whole situation drives me nuts.
Amazing that Rutgers a team that Johnnies destroyed earlier has improved so much in course of the year while it looks as if St John’s has taken a step back Winning at DePaul has always been tough for Johnnies and now Xavier on road whom Mullin has never beaten
