If I heard correctly, this was a Quad 4 loss, which is devastating to our NCAA hopes
Gotta sweep the remaining games (especially Villanova) to have a legit shot

After what we did to them I'll be very surprised if we win at their place, only shot is to atleast make it to the championship game in the B.E tournament.

If Williams was healthy , which is uncertain , he could have done a better job defending Moore that Dunn or Wusu . But , it doesn't appear that Greg is 100 percent . Mike's offensive sets are much worse than anything Mullin put out there . DePaul had great length and Jones and Weems are both 4-5 star Recruits and they are long and quick . They murdered us inside and on the boards . I kept yelling for Anderson to put Cole in but , he didn't ? Why ? You could see Wusu was killing us tonight . Inexplicable . Dunn was a continual mistake tonight .

I think everyone feels the same way. We worked so hard to get in a position to make this season count and then we played a clunker. Terrible team play. Too many players trying to do too much. The ball never seemed to bounce our way. Unfortunately these things happen. Have to give some credit to DePaul. They executed their game plan and made a lot of big shots.

If his back is bad, keep him out !!!

Not helping anyone.

He gives us what he can. Seems like a chronic condition as he had issues last season too. He's trying to play through it as rest would probably take him past end of season to get it right. I give the kid credit for hanging in there giving us what he can which is better than if he sat out.

Why did Dunn play the entire 2nd half? He was 1-10 from the floor with 5 turnovers.
You would have to think Cole and Williams are bretter options then Dunn.

Let's not short change Dunn. 6 Turnovers.

Probably will get warning for this but oh well, he stinks, just being real.

Williams clearly not 100%. Can he make an open shot? Sure. But taking and playing through contact is probaly making him tentative. Just stinks for him and us because he can be real good when he's clicking.

Brutal loss. Can't believe we stunk tonight when we needed it. I guess we just aren't ready yet. You look at our roster, lacks senior leadership. Our best player is a soph and our freshmen PG just had a clunker of a game. Moore is an older, seasoned kid and it showed tonight.

I give DePaul credit for great defensive effort.  They played like they wanted this game.  Our defense was terrible.  I don't know what the stats were but it felt like all of their points were on layops or within 10 feet of the basket.  How about keeping them from penetrating and force DePaul to prove it can hit some outside shots.  It was sickening watching layup after layup.  Keep bad shooting teams in fromt of you.  There are times you'll have bad nights offensively, it happens.  Defensive effort needs to be there.  I don't believe in defensive slumps.  You have to have the desire and effort to be great defensively every night.  We saw that effort against Villanova but it' has to be there every night.  Great teams always bring their defense and find a way to win even if they're having an off night offensively.

What I saw tonight is a team that is not worthy of the NCAA tourney, on a par with PC, Marquette, Xavier but just not as good as Hall, UCONN, Nova & Creighton, an NIT type team. Incremental improvement, was hoping for more, but should have been ready for much less.

He's giving us what he can, but he might be damaging his future by trying to play through this.  He's obviously not an NBA talent, but he can land somewhere overseas.

For his sake, it may be better to shut him down the rest of the way.  We'll miss him, but the kid has a future to think about, too.

100%   if you lose to DePaul then you aren't worthy.

Don't you think he, his dad, coach and the doctors have thought about and discussed this? Probably a situation where he can't really make it much worse but needs time or a procedure to correct.

His future is one thing, but he's just not effective if he is not mobile.

a tweaked back is not like a jammed finger.

I'd rather he not play.

What was the excuse for keeping Cole out?
Unless there is a circumstance that we are unaware of, (a la Williams), then I agree, Cole needs to be in there at the end.  We needed 3 pointers, and although he's not great, he's as good as anyone we have.

We had poor guard play tonight. With Williams unable to play but 3 minutes, no where to turn.  Williams is like a fragile thoroughbred. Really good when he is right, but spends most of the time dealing with injuries. Having back problems as a 20 year old is not a good sign for his future.

Bad loss, but I would have signed up for 8 and 8 at this point after another poor conference start.  Depaul played like a team with nothing to lose, and we played tight and sloppy all game.

OK we'll do what you want not what the kid, his family and his coach want. /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png/media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

Williams being hurt has been tough. He is a very talented player and I feel a very strong defender but the reality is that he has been hurt for most of our winning streak. The guys that won the games for us did not execute today both on offense and defense. I do agree that Cole should have played more.

Coach Anderson's program is known as 45 minutes of hell. Tonight it was 45 minutes of what the hell are we doing?

DePaul could have won this game by 20 points. They didn't play well the last 10 minutes. DePaul has a problem closing games. They still outplayed St John's and hung onto their lead.
