Real simple - when your opponent makes 63% of it's shots from the field and 50% from 3 point range and you make 34% of your shots from the field and 36% from 3 point range, you lose.

Nothing else was good, though. Still, 3 games and the BET left, so let's try and make something of it.
The only shot we have now is to win our last three games and then win at least one game in the BET. This was a quad 4 loss at home. There's almost no coming back from this resume wise unless we win out and even then we probably need 2 more in the BET.
saying like this makes it sound like DePaul just got hot and it wasn't our fault. That's not the case. We were giving up layups all evening. No resistance inside. Too easy.MarkRedman" post=421156 said:Real simple - when your opponent makes 63% of it's shots from the field and 50% from 3 point range and you make 34% of your shots from the field and 36% from 3 point range, you lose.

DePaul took a page outta Butler's playbook. It, of course, didn't look the same but it worked to their advantage, nonetheless, and garnered a win. They funneled everything through the paint. It either got 'em clean looks at the tin or wide open looks behind the arc.
We never made DePaul truly feel uncomfortable. Once they settled into their game and knew they'd be able to run and get what they wanted, we were cooked unless we got cooking offensively. If you got an defensive eraser in the back like an Obekpa who can clean up and block or alter shots then continue doing what you're doing ala defensive philosophy. But we don't have that sort of luxury.
This is why I'm a proponent of changing up defenses. I bet a sound zone would've changed the outcome of tonight's game. Losing to bum ass teams like Butler and DePaul late in the season doesn't sit well with me. Putrid losses.

Who are you and what have you done with Boo??
This team has won me over

Let's not short change Dunn. 6 Turnovers.EliteBaller K" post=421167 said:Why did Dunn play the entire 2nd half? He was 1-10 from the floor with 5 turnovers.
You would have to think Cole and Williams are bretter options then Dunn.
