Who would thought a month ago that most on this board would be hoping Wheeler can come back for another year?
Wheeler needs to go ahead and start a clothing line and post a link so I can buy a couple of "Wheels up" hoodies.

Julian not his best but good.
Wheeler continues to play well.
Soriano has shown huge improvement.
Fewer bone headed plays.
21-25 from the free throw line.
Put it all together and the improvement results in a Big East road win and at Hinkle that is huge.
Congrats to team and staff.

We finally figured out how and who to play.  Wheeler needs big minutes, mathis needs less minutes.  Niwye is a force and now requires minutes, stef smith does not.  Soriano is establishing himself out there, stanleys lack of offense is hurting him.  Coburn needs big minutes as his 3 point shooting keeps the D honest.

We have figured out the formula.  It just might be a little to late and the Posh injury is very ill timed.

One of my favorite John Wooden quotes is "timeouts are a sign of weakness".

Without those 2 timeouts to spare at the end, we probably would be crying now.

However not calling a TO up 3 and the ball with less than a minute left, could have avoided Wusu to continue to dribble in traffic and coughing it up. The whole possession had a bad look from the start. You’ve two TO’s in your pocket. Use one to get your team composed.

I thought it was Coburn's best all-around game.  Took the right shots, played better defensively, moved the ball really well.

Glad everyone loves Wheeler now (especially Monte, of course). Have yet to see anyone give Anderson any credit for having patience and bringing him along until he was ready to be a contributor, and then expanding his role from there.

There are a lot of pieces to coaching. I have my issues with some aspects of Anderson's coaching toolkit, but when you look at the development of Champ, Posh, Wusu, now Wheeler, the slowly increasing use of Coburn you can certainly see where some of his strengths lie.

Nice to see Coburn in the rotation the last  few games it allows Wusu to play more appropriate minutes. Nyiwe had some big offensive rebounds too. Team has talent hopefully they continue to gel and establish roles; got a nice 9 man rotation starting to form. Butler has an experienced team this was an impressive win on the road. Winning these types of close games helps to build confidence and hopefully it carries over.

St. John's leader in plus/minus? Tareq Coburn. Plus-11 in 10 minutes. Hit two massive free throws late. #sjubb

Does spread the floor as perimeter threat

My buddy is a nova fan and told me gillispie rolled his ankle and couldnt finish the game.  Said it looked real bad and he sees no way he will be able to go on tuesday.

Anderson appears to have the old school mentality of the bench being a great motivator for a guy to play well (personally, I think it's a motivation for guys to transfer).  Early in the year, Wheeler make one or two mistakes (of aggression), and coach would pull him.

With Wheeler, that might not have been the wisest course of action.  Some guys just have to play through their mistakes.

On the radio (streaming) postgame, Cleveland did not sound confidant about Posh, at least in the short term.  If he's gone long-term, it's a shame, because we just had our best character win on the year.  As much as I feel the UCONN loss demoralized this team, winning this game the way we did could have the opposite effect, although with two good teams coming into MSG, it's going to be tough, even with this team starting to grow up.

Mathis should be coming off the bench giving us 10 minutes a game.  Coburn should be starting and giving is 25 minutes a game.

Soriano played well, has a nice touch around the rim. Wheeler quickly becoming a fan favorite.

And both have additional year(s) here and likely will be back. A positive!!!

AND
anything better than reading a post game topic after a W - such a nice way to spend some time.
