(POST GAME) @Butler, Sat., Feb. 5, 12 Noon, FS-1

Free throws obviously key but my game ball goes to Wheeler who hit some absolutely huge Js in the clutch.  Another strong game for Soriano!

Agree they got to the line and hit over 80% as a team that was the difference. Champ was cold down the stretch but stayed engaged, got a key steal and some rebounds and thankfully hit his FTs. Wheeler came up clutch wouldn’t have won this one without him. Two in a row on the road, stay focused take it game by game.

Obviously Champ the hero, but kudos for Coburn for making those two huge free throws to put us up 3.

Just when I post before the game that he shoots more than 70% threes and doesn't get to the line, he goes to the hole and line twice down the stretch.

Great win. Season alive. Still lots of work to do.

And its time to put Coburn in the starting lineup.  The team just plays better with a guy out there where the defense has to respect the 3.  Change needs to be made now.  Today coach was smart enough to do it at the end of the game.  Now he needs to do it from the tip.

Doubt he takes Mathis out of starting lineup as he's been playing well, shooting aside. Key is not to have Mathis, Stanley or Nyiwe in at end of games when foul shooting is key.

Between Wusu, Coburn and Champy, we shot 7-8 from the line down the stretch.  That was the difference.

Posh has 2 days to get that ankle right.  I didnt think it looked that bad.  Him playing Tuesday night is not an option.
You called for Coburn and he responded.

I was also watching him play defense, he's improved so much from when he first got here.  Mathis better watch out.

Huge win for us, a must on the road. Shaky finish but Champ, Coburn came up big at the line.

Shout out to Aaron Wheeler for hitting some blood buckets when we really needed them. Thank you Purdue.

Feels good to come out on top of a last possession type game. I automatically assume it doesn't end well. Champ made some huge FT's down the stretch. Let's hope Posh's ankle is ok.

It's hard to watch Wusu handle the ball; we have to have better options when Posh is out. Looks like Pinzone may have some post Covid health issues, is a red shirt an option?

Yeah.  I also like the way he moves the ball around the perimeter.  They swing the ball around well when he is in there.

Game was Anderson's approach in a nutshell: team competed hard, players were put in a position to succeed, there were several spots where the play design was more than a little lacking - sometimes the execution made up for it and sometimes not so much.

Good and needed road win, need to keep it going now.  Will be a challenge if Posh isn't good to go but that kid is probably going to show up even if he has to play in a cast.

Great win on the road today!! Hopefully Posh is good and we go on a little run here. More Coburn please!

This is spot on Boo, I totally agree. I was very anti-Wheeler based on his early-season play but he has won me over and is doing great things out there. He was extremely efficient today going 4 for 6 from the floor (missing only his two three-point attempts), as well as going 5 for 5 from the line. I think Soriano is growing exponentially as well and is playing very smart and efficient too.

Kudos to Coach for focusing on free throws during practice, which was critical to the victory.

I am worried about Posh and he may not be ready for Villanova, but it looks as though Collin Gillespie also got hurt today and may not play Tuesday either.

What a gritty win!! So happy for our kids and coaching staff.

CMA's switch to a zone defense was a major factor. Kudos to him for the adjustment. So pleased to see Wheeler and Soriano continue to play really well and to see Coburn contributing as well.

My money is on Posh playing in the Garden against Villanova. We still have a lot to play for. CMA's teams generally improve later in the season. We're at that point of the season right now.

Who would have thought a month ago that most on this board would be hoping Wheeler can come back for another year?
