(POST GAME) Brown, Tue. Dec. 10, 7p, FS-1, 970 WNYW

They had x-rays all the way back then?
It was a few decades after they listed you at 6'1" - I was in middle school.

There are also HIPAA regulations regarding release of medical records which could come into play. Leave the release to CMA and the AD. Expect the worst and hope for the best. Thekid at Seton Hall is out for 6 to 10 weeks--one never knows.

PS--I heard Heron is being flown to Lourdes.

Logged in to check the news on Heron. I see nothing has been reported. Hopefully it's a sprain. But, CMA needs to be extra cautious in bringing Heron back. At least wait until after New year's. The risk of reinjuring an ankle just isn't worth putting him into a game too soon.

I was following the the game on Google. Does anyone have a link to the play that injured Heron?

Overall, St John's played really well. I'm concerned that they still can't hold onto comfortable leads. Brown got the score much too close towards the end. CMA needs to get that fixed before BE play begins.

Is there video of the ankle when Heron lands? With my experience and field I would like to be able to give an assessment on the injury.

Not really, happened out of bounds behind the basket and at least last night, TV offered no good look at what happened.
He hasn't mentioned anything specific about his own condition, but Mustapha has been sharing stuff about last night's win on his Instagram Story. This would at least indicate he's in good spirits.
and that we can rule out a problem with his fingers

Wonderful news for Mustapha if accurate. Two weeks would mean he might only miss last two non-conference games.

I was expecting high ankle sprain and was hoping we would fly him to Tua's doctor. Hopefully better than most of our expectations.

There is no doubt heron got an xray last night on campus. If it came back positive we would know by now that he had a fracture. They wont announce anything until they have a diagnosis.
IMO, they will announce when they announce; I know many may disagree but they owe nothing to fans or the media as far as timing; what they do owe is honesty when they do report. There could be a myriad of reasons they have not announced besides waiting for tests and their results. I could be wrong with this but I believe if a test reveas a clear cut diagnosis, it probably will be announced rather promptly. As several medically trained people have already shared, it is not always that straightforward.
I was just pointing out that i was sure an xray was performed last night on campus. And if a definitive diagnosis was found out then they would announce if they even had to announce it.

I watched Heron's injury with a pretty good look in slow motion. I originally thought that he injured his knee or in the ACL area, but I saw him clutching his Achilles' tendon area. Hopefully, it's a sprain as has been reported.

Had a busy night so didn't get to watch the game until this morning. Obviously biggest takeaway is hoping Heron is back and healthy as soon as possible. Really sucks that he got hurt here because I thought he was taking a good step forward this game. His outside shot was still way off but he had his mid-range game really working and was getting to the line. Just looked more confident. I also agree with those that point out 2nd half performance needs to be more consistent. Those backdoor cuts and their interior passing in the 2nd half made us look bad a number of times.

Good things:
Thought Dunn quietly had a great game. 12 pts but more importantly 6 assists and ZERO turnovers. Especially nice it came in a game where Rutherford was limited and didn't really add anything in the box score.

Free throw shooting! 24-26! Thats 92%. Really nice follow up to the good performance from the line against West Virginia. Let's keep that up.

Only 6 turnovers. I'll take than in any game against any Division 1 opponent.

LJ looked good. Between this and the 1st half of West Virginia feels like he's been playing some of his best ball lately (at least offensively)

That Greg Williams dunk was INSANE. Two separate friends who are not SJU fans but know I am texted me about it after having seen it on Sportscenter. Great exposure for the program and a nice confidence boost for Williams.

Waiting for you know who to complain about the 2 missed free throws.

My bad, posting as a reply to yours; that’s what I did but not my intent, sorry.

We have an X-Ray machine and tech on campus? Lol

Shocking yes but would be more shocked today if not. At least I’m sure access to portable machine.

Actually, Zach's take is much more encouraging:

"Mustapha Heron has a sprained right ankle and is being listed day-to-day by the school. Sounds like St John's got very lucky here". #sjubb

Few weeks ago I did say that our free throws had to improve.Kodos to coach to address it. We were in the % of 65 but 92 wow I’ll take that every game lol
