If you can't come up with an crazy idea on an internet board than where can you! Personally, I think me promoting Speedy Claxton on this board so much got him extended at Hofstra. They heard RSR was sniffing around him for STJ next coach and they locked him up

Haven’t seen or heard specific skills that define any of these suggested coaches abilities. For example, is Speedy a good in game coach? Does he call timeouts appropriately? Are there offensive sets with structure? Have his players improved under his leadership? Do his teams play defense?
If you want to avoid another debacle, you better be able to answer these questions re every coaching candidate!

Yes Speedy did sign an “extension” last week but I am told by one of his longtime friends that the new contract provides outs If StJ’s offers and he accepts.
Sorry Knight, at best CMA was an ok hire. Guy gets canned for failing at the one school where he should have been most likely to succeed, and he's gonna come here and resurrect our program? That was a long shot. He was never the "home run hire" that they were touting him to be. We rolled the dice out of lack of options, which is fine if it didn't turn out to be such an expensive roll.
I'm still not sold on him being gone, especially if we win a couple of games in the Big East tourney. If by some slim chance we make it to the finals, it may buy him 2 more years.

I have said this all along. I do not know how Cragg/ Shanley can possibly spin his departure in a way that does not make them look completely incompetent. Anyone who thinks this doesn’t matter is kidding themselves.
Agree but perhaps lesser of two evils. Will they look competent in keeping him? Would rather they admit mistake and correct it.
I don't see him leaving either. His "never had a losing season" mantra is ideal for a program that thrives in mediocrity. There are no plans to become elite. The powers that be are elated with a mid-major program selling tix in a Big East Conference. It makes life easy and pressure free.
As opposed to just crap.
I this case, I will not adhere to the “the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t”.
We know what we have, and what we have is completely unwatchable.
Of course this school’s track record of coaching hires does not bring confidence that it will finally be done correctly.
But I am confident that this current hire is a failure.
Funny though how Carnesseca was sold out all season for a team that was completely unwatchable.
I personally found yesterdays game extremely watchable. Same for our wins against UConn and Providence.
Wow. They sold out Carnesecca arena. Everyone gets a participation trophy.
And yes it is unwatchable, because as good a win as the UConn game was, they followed it up by laying a bunch of eggs. Same with Providence. Games like that should create momentum, but they did not.
And yesterday’s almost comeback was another example of how this team is poorly coached. Talent is there, to be a a tournament team. The coaching is not.
