Possible Coaching Candidates

I seriously doubt Pitino an option mostly because we can’t have nice things.
Talking myself into Claxton
Hofstra has had its fair share of success in conference, but only one other coach in their history has had a 16-2 conference record. He ended up being pretty good.

I like our low major options a lot. But that’s the problem. They’re low major risks. Would rather that risk than Brey.

Taking Pitino off table I actually like Brey.
His teams always ran a good offense and he recruited to fit his style. That is something none of our coaches have ever done.
Claxton would be my 3
But since Pitino has as much chance as Louie coming back he is my actual 2nd choice.

I would have loved Brey 4 years ago. Not as much now. St. John’s however can and has done worse.

Cant see any way he'd be interested.
Don’t see him as a west coast guy. Could be wrong. Don’t think another ACC school will be knocking soon. Could be wrong there too. You’d think a Midwestern high major would be the best place for him. How often do those open up? Not that many other high major jobs where he would be clear leader. He does know the big East well and what it would take at sju, maybe that’s reason enough for him to stay away lol.

They should at least give him a call unless they are going to go after Pitino. None of the other candidates have the track record of Big East success that he has.

I'll preface this by saying a lot can change in four years, and maybe the dots I'm connecting here are wishful thinking as I'm a diehard, but in 2019 as Chris Mullin was steping away from the program, Pitino reportedly told Adam Z. in a text that he would bring St. John's to the elite level not seen since Louie roamed the sidelines. In recent days he said he would only consider leaving Iona for a special place that he can take to a Final Four. Just saying...

There is almost no chance Pitino stays at Iona past this season. What job does he take...

Would seem he winds up at one of Notre Dame, Georgetown or St. John's unless there is an opening at Florida (losing). I just can't see Pitino having any interest in Texas.

Can’t see ND going for him. This is Golden’s first year at Florida so they aren’t making a change.

A lot is going to depend on who Texas targets and whether that leads to a domino effect opening up a sensible landing spot for Pitino. Also Ohio State could get the carousel spinning as could any unexpected retirements.

How about ND?

If Pitino lands at St. John’s it will mean he swung and missed at a few other openings. That’s only my opinion though.

Soo why do we need a search firm. We already did that here w primo number one and a few others such as speedy claxton chris Mack. Breys name been mentioned but shouldn't be mentioned again heard had too much baggage (although fiancé took it back there was physical evidence so count him out). Save money on the search firm we already vested many potentials here.
1. Petino
2. Speedy
3. Mack
4. Norm roberts / he has years of experiences as coach and asst maybe second times the charm (ha ha ha)
5. He maybe be old but has had some success in the big eat . Mine Jarvis . 15 seconds of passing before a shoot, but he's well rested
6. Mike brey
So after the top three ignore lol

He's on several billionaires' candidates list at a nearby school that is torn about letting its coach go.

I guess it's Stanford, because if Cal is torn about keeping Fox after this year's debacle he has something on someone.
