Possible Coaching Candidates

Question: Where would a coach like Pitino take the current roster this season? I think we have a pretty talented bunch who just need more direct coaching. Under a higher caliber coach, Jones and Curbelo would have been good players. Storr would have been playing minutes earlier in the season, and guys like Wusu would be further developed. Just a thought...

I think Pitino could have won two games in the NCAA tournament with this roster. He definitely would have won one game.

any solid coach wouldn't have not just one but TWO players go rogue. 5 players the court 2 out of the 5 are now off the court 3 are left. just saying at one point Pinzon and Curbelo are both on the court at the same time. Now they're gone. Who's next?

Well as long as the charges are dropped, Cragg and company should be ok with it. After all, the school honored a guy who murdered someone cause the charges were dropped and hired a Rap artist to perform on the opening night of hoops season who Cragg was aware he threw his pregnant girlfriend off a balcony but since the charges were dropped, it was ok with him.

Hopefully they remain consistent here and consider coach Beard.

John Becker from Vermont is another interesting candidate who, if not for scandal, probably would have already landed a bigger job.

Of course not. That case was one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in history. My point was to point out the inconsistency of Mickey Cragg and the St. John’s administration. I would have no problem supporting their reluctance to go after coach Beard had they not overlooked the indiscretions of the other criminals they brought on board.

I didn't even know Stony Brook had changed conferences until I tried to find them in the standings. If he can land a job in that conference it will be a good steppingstone should he ever want to move on from there.

Next level: The guys that I listed or similar. I'll watch when I'm not doing anything, if I'm doing something i'll check my phone for score updates.
Getting a coach only because we whiffed on to many others, nah I'm done.

Didn't go to St. John's. My dad did later in life so I was alive when he started there. That probably makes me a fan for 42-ish years, I guess? I'm in too deep to go anywhere.

Am I bummed if it's not the guy who would have an immediate and electric impact? Sure. But if it's Langel or Speedy I'm not going anywhere. I'm an Islanders and Jets fan. Where the hell am I really going to go? My only saving grace sports-wise is that I've been in the Bay Area since 1999. But if you really really press me on it, I still say I'm a Knicks fan even though I like and enjoy Golden State waaaaaaay more.
