Pitino

Quite honestly, I am blown away by some posters who are willing to accept a cheater to win. That's crazy and WRONG!
Unlike other cheaters, he never actually needed to cheat to win, though. Maybe he can fight the voices in his head telling him to cheat and he can be clean for five years . . . and ride off into the sunset after having brought us our first national championship.
Sounds like A-Rod.

Didn't he have sex with the wife of a subordinate on his staff? Have been in the research literature trying to find the diagnosis for that particular pathology. May have to call one of my psychiatrist teaching partners. St. John's needs him like Putin needs another puppet.

I think he could and would, stay clean.
People that think that he dont know people will have his eyes on him, are funny.

If he cheated now and got caught, he'd definitely would be done.
He already knows this.

No, first he had table sex with her, with an assistant coach as lookout, then the strength coach married her. Abortion money also proffered at some point.

Keep saying I’m not going to get involved in this conversation, but just can’t help myself when I see some of the insane comments made here. For starters, for those of you mentioning “foregiveness”, when exactly did Rick apologize for anything and ask for foregiveness? Second, for those of you who think this is just about Catholic morals, UCLA wanted absolutely nothing to do with Rick, and to the best of my knowledge that had nothing to do with Catholic morals. Let’s face facts, wherever Rick lands(it ain’t gonna be here no matter how many family friends want him here) he will be under the watchful eye of both the Feds and the NCAA. No school needs that one-two punch up thier ass. Although some school, out of sheer desperation, will be willing to accept that. To that I say: better them then us.
Some of us -- like myself and, if I understand him correctly, John Mar -- aren't saying Pitino shouldn't be hired because of the abortion issue. The point is, a Catholic university would no doubt put more far weight on those issues than a non-Catholic school like UCLA would. Not saying I agree with it, just saying it's likely true.
Agree completely. I think there are a variety of factors that are keeping UCLA, St. John’s and apparently all of the other schools with coaching vacancies from taking a chance on him. And it ain’t his price tag. There are reasons, and none of us are privy to the full extent of the reasons.

Hey bud, tell me where we been that last 20yrs. I'm willing to take anyone just to get me that feeling sju fans had long ago, so yep, i want rick, and i dont give a crap about his past. Just make sju matter again for the first time in 20yrs.

I was softening on Pitino, but now do not want him in Jamaica leading the program. No soup for him. Next!

So now you're hard on him? Hmmm.

While we all contemplate what drove Rick Pitino to do what he did off the court, and wonder about recruiting shenanigans, what's left of our team languishes without a coach while thoughts of when to bail dances in their heads. I'm not saying rush it, but instead let's do it right. Including giving Pitino a look. Cluess is facing a major step up in class. He will have to recruit against Wright and Ewing and Willard, and deal with Danny Hurley poaching on NYC talent as well. Cluess will have the same issues everyone that failed here had regarding facilities and little recent success. We have tried every type of coach, from the loyal assistant to the up and comer to the untried but famous name to the former coach coming out of the booth. I am not a fan of what Pitino did in hisprivate life or the allegations against Louisville, but for once I would like opposing coaches to be nervous going up against a coach of Pitino's level of success as a recruiter and game coach.

Knight 2 option A: take a chance on rick, and wins a nc in 5yrs.
Or
Option b: Cluess or an up and comer, who never won the b.e. reg sesson nor the b.e. tourny, never finished above 4th in conf play.
Get to ghe ncaa tourny in his 5tj year, but is a one and doner.

It's a no brainer to me, 1000% rick.

What changed ? Of course you have a right to your opinion for whatever reasons, but I ask because I feel for Pitino to get the job some of the Powers that be will need to soften their stances. What was your thought process that made you begin to soften and then stop ?

Very valid for the weak willed.

Account must have been hacked. Mods freeze the account! Old school promised on Saturday he was taking a week off immediately, and reaffirmed that yesterday.

The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

I was getting frustrated with the process., so I was opening up to Pitino's employment. Re-reading some of Pitino's quotes led me to believe that this was going to be the beginning of a circus. Furthermore, I don't think Cluess is worth the $2.5 mil buyout and I do not see a viable candidate with experience, as promised by Cragg.

You're slow Beast, I never said I'm taking a week off.

Take a look at page 85 on the Cluess thread, I said:

"You're right, my mind day/night is on sju, maybe i need a break.

Be back during the week."

Monday - Friday is during the week, I never said I'm taking a week off.
You dumb blank, I'd say more but then i'd get a warning.

Capmaker questioned why the coaches of the top programs all cheat. They cheat because they know their competitors are cheating and feel they really aren't cheating ,they are keeping up with the Jones'.

Wow, talk about nonsensical rationalization!! They cheat because they are cheaters, they cheat because they know they couldn’t do it any other way.
