Penn State Game

Ballgame!

We had our chances, but blew it at the end of regulation. Not to mention, we kept fouling them in OT. They are a 75% FT shooting team. No way that was gonna work out in our favor.

And from following the game tracker we missed 2 in the last 10 seconds. Unbelievable.

NY's team can't get out of the 1st round of NY's tournament....smh

Yep! Sampson missed hit one of two, and we took a 2-point lead. Then, he goes down and foul the guy in the act of shooting a trey. The PSU player hits all three to take a 1-point lead.

Harrison gets the ball and he's fouled with the chance to win it. He misses the first and hits the second, and then we head into OT.

yep tried an outlet pass as a game breaker that hurt us. These things are hard to figure. You made a furious comeback
with fast and free play so how do you suddenly stop. PSU was on their heels then. The game was "almost" in hand.
Frazier was the real clutch guard calmly sinking the 3 free throws to put them up off the very poor foul by Jakarr.
Once you have the game you hate to give it back. Let's see how PSU reacts tomorrow and how we react. Could be
down against GT. I am not optimistic even though GT is nothing to speak about.

This one stings a bit coz we really had 2 blown chances at the end of regulation. I had a bad feeling once it went into OT that we were going to lose. The players lost this game. Stupid to blame it on the coaches. The coaches didn't make Jakarr foul a three point shot, the coaches didn't hit one of two with 2 seconds left. . that was dlo.Love Obekpa. The guy just keeps getting better. They need to come out focused tomorrow. Since rysheed hardly played tonight maybe he gets a lot of burn and can get out of his funk

Wins: Wagner, Bucknell, Monmouth, Longwood

Losses: Wisconsin, Penn State

Great resume, St. John's! I'm sorry guys, but I'm disgusted by this loss. If you want to take the next step as a program, you can't lose to Penn State. Plain and simple.

Kinda like Michigan did last year? And they went nowhere last year didn't they?

Headed back to Philly now on the train. Very fun game, but tough game to lose. It is apparent we have NO leader on this team and no consistency at either end of the floor. I know it's early, but jeez...I really hope we bounce back tomorrow and put this one behind us.

I want to blame the coaches but I'm not quite ready to do that just yet. People have to be accountable for their actions on the court as well

My psu fan friends will never let me live this one down.

Based on how this season is going, Rysheed will be out of here considering Lavin won't even let him see the floor

17th ranked recruit in the nation buried on the bench

Conjecture.... Not to mention, the season is still young. So, we're not sure how many minutes he may log later in the season.

Big difference: Beilein can actually coach

Yeah. I can only hope since he had plenty of rest and it's a quick turn around that Lavin is kinda forced to give sheed lots of minutes and he can have a break out game that turns his season and our season around

Kneejerk. If you want to take the next step, then just win games, period.

I'm also upset about the loss. But I'll still allow the season to play out before going haywire.

A cop out.

This team has no I repeat no Bball IQ, think Lavin gets athletes but not ones who think the game.

I said the same thing to a poster about a year ago. He wasn't sure that was the case at the time. The same person hit me up a couple of weeks ago, and that was one of the first things he said to me. This time in agreement.

I'm not totally blaming those particular players (as, it's not all their fault), but sometimes one has to think while on the floor.

For example: I didn't know Obekpa tried to throw an outlet pass with us up by 2 in OT (Gametracker only stated that he had the ball stolen from him). I read it was a horrible decision. One poster stated he threw it into double-coverage. Basically, stating it had no chance of hitting the planned target. Can anyone here verify it?

That just isn't smart play. Say for instance, if he holds onto the ball, and we go down and score, and goes up by 4 or 5. That could've been the ballgame. One has to properly think.

Yes Obekpa threw the ball up the middle of the court and it was stolen. It's a shame because he played a good game otherwise.

Bottom line is we kind of suck right now. Hopefully we won't suck when it matters most, but I have my doubts. That being said, no use going too crazy until the season plays itself out.

I guess I'm in the minority when I say I'm happy our guys hung tough, came back and made it a game.

Yes they've been down in recent years, but Penn State is still Penn State.

This is not football. They are not a good basketball school.

It was a nice comeback...while it lasted...

Penn St. is still Penn St.? What is that supposed to mean? They have never been a hoop power they are a football school. this may be one of their better teams.

I never expected the game to be as close as it was based on the teams recent play. One thing about Rysheed, We are not Kansas, North Carolina or Duke, if we get the 17th ranked recruit and he doesn't play we won't get other recruits to come here if we don't win. If we win consistently that another story, kids will come and really not complain about sitting a little early on. If we don't win, top recruits are not going to come here to sit and lose. Greene should not be playing PG. He 's 2 guard and should be backing up Dlo. Jordan and Branch should playing PG. That's why at the end Greene is just coming down and shooting the ball instead of facilitating the offense.
