Are these kids supposed to have perfect possessions every single play? Damn there's a lot of criticizing going on. We're still in this, lets keep grinding.
Well this game tonight taught me alot about these kids.
Yes the Creighton game was huge, but we all knew they would be up for that game.
Tonight, I was alittle worried that they`d be full of themselves, and look past SHU.
Tonight was business like, I like seeing that.
Celebrate tonight, but tomorrow practice for G-Town.
LETS KEEP A GREAT THING GOING, IT FEELS GOOD.
Hey Jack, was that better grammer, Mr. English professor?
Awesome pass, fantastic win! These guys now know how to close under pressure. Bring on Georgetown!

It's funny because it isn't 100% consensus, but a lot of coaches love the bounce pass, because to get it by defenders it's naturally a lot lower. It also bounces up to the recipient making it easy to catch and shoot. Some coaches like an aerial pass, the old fashioned chest pass, because it gets there faster. Obviously the circumstance should rule. In this case, the bounce pass was perfectly executed.
Teammates are going to begin to realize that if they cut and get open, then Rysheed will find them. That, along with his exuberance, was the change the Magic Johnson brought to the Lakers. If you are open, if you cut, you'd better be ready for a pass, because he will find you.

BTW that should have been an intentional foul. There was no play on the ball just an intentional shove on the back.
Dom is one of the few on the team who doesn't take any plays off. He's not an all american. So what? If the others wanted it as much as Dom, we'd be in the top ten right now.
Umm...actually Dom takes every single shot off on offense. He doesn't even attempt to get offensive rebounds. Once in a while one will bounce to him, but he'll never go for one. You saw what Jordan did at the end by charging in the lane from the three point line to wrestle away that offensive rebound? Dom wouldn't have moved an inch or awkwardly jumped in place. That's not hustle...that is lazy. We could live without Jordan putting in the extra effort because he is a PG and has a bigger responsibility to get back on defense...but Dom's lack of hustle is really hurting this team.
On defense he gives up too easy as well. As soon as he's beat he stands up straight and lets his man go by him looking for a block. He never plays screens right either....he runs around them instead of staying close to his man and going over top. It's lazy across the board and he doesn't like contact.

In basketball, a flagrant foul is a serious personal foul. A foul is considered flagrant when it involves excessive or violent contact which could injure the fouled player. It is distinct from an intentional foul, which is a tactic permitted within the game as long as the foul is not considered flagrant.
One big negative I took away from the game last night was Sanchez on defense. Man was he bad or what??? The drop off defensively when subbing Obekpa for Sanchez was terrible. He just sleeps on the defensive end. It was bad to watch.
Too bad, but from what I've read in a number of threads on this forum, insider information has it that both guys involved in this play -- CO and Lawrence -- will be transferring at the end of year. Hmm. Keep wondering where they'll both end up.

obviously intentional fouls are committed all the time to extend games but when a guy is going up for a layup or dunk and is shoved in the back that is different then fouling a guy in the backcourt and Obepka did take a pretty good fall.
I no your ok with looking silly now and then because Dom gonna come up big. U root for the team, you happy. Second game in a row he changed the feel of the first half when things were going south. He got to the rim twice to shave 4 off the halls halftme lead when others had their hands in their pockets. I don't knock the kids because they not perfect but likley to help win games in the next half or down the pike. Against Creighton he helped us to a lead in the first half at a time Creighton already had the shovels out. But like all the guy, he's not perfect. Did anybody think it smart to slam Harrison down the stretch. I love him with the ball in his hands, but far from good down the stretch. No doubt CO was not pleasing all until he won the game for us. We need everybody. If my posts irritating I will stop posting if you all would like.Dom is one of the few on the team who doesn't take any plays off. He's not an all american. So what? Maybe it is time to accept Dom makes some exciting plays now and then, including steals and dunks. He is an abysmal ball handler & shooter, prone to less than cerebral play. Once thought he could evolve into a Postell type player, but that's not happening. Accept he is a average bench player who can excite you occasionally, but more often than not he disappoints.

According to the NCAA rule book, a Flagrant 1 foul occurs when a player "swings an elbow and makes non-excessive contact with an opponent above the shoulders."

Jack, so you have to be negative even after a win huh?
Guess some people are never happy, even after a win.
Some good analysis of Dom by a few posters here...I thought he would evolve into a different player as well. He had some key offensive plays last night, and played well within his offensive boundries. As many have mentioned, his basketball IQ and ball handling are consistently poor, and his rep as a lock down defender is overblown. He has an important role as a bench player on the team, and I feel like we need to take the good with the bad, and not rely on him for things we had "hoped" he could be. I was actually excited to see Green getting ready to come in for Dom towards the end of the game, but after a good play from Dom, Green sat back down. In the end, it worked out, we won, but I get an uneasy feeling with Dom on the floor down the stretch in a close game.
