Let's be honest about Obekpa coming back. So far, the guy has mostly been a stooge. Could you imagine our reaction to him if he was Christian Jones or Myles Stewart, or a similar talent, who smashed an elbow into a guys head, refused to go into a game at a critical juncture, or whose suspension left the team so short handed they had no chance to win an NCAA game.
Our sense of forgiveness has everything to do with 4 blocks and 8 rebounds per game, a legitimate inside presence and whose inclusion on our roster gives us the best chance to win next year. We'd flush him in a second if he didn't have value as a basketball player.
Hopefully along with our selfish mercy, Mullin can teach him a little about being a responsible adult and some life skills along with improving his FT %.
The best thing I am willing to say about this is that there are millions of people around the country responding positively to news of Chris Mullin taking the reigns. I hope one of them who will respond positively is CO, and I think it's a fair bet he will.
