nothing wrong with stanton tonight or the last 20 nights.
Urshela was in the conversation, but he's been out for the last month.

Judge, Gallo, and Stanton are good outfielders, but if there is a problem, it's that all three are right fielders, basically.Rob post=438422 said:I think it’s lack of comfort for Judge playing that position and having to cover more ground. He has such a great and accurate arm but needs to adjust to how different CF is to play. He’s not a traditional CF of course and wouldn’t be there if Hicks was healthy, but with how Voit is going, and Stanton being able to handle the field, I can’t fault them for going with that OF alignment.
They do need to get Chapman back. A Green/Loisaga combo as closer could be fine, but the pen was a real strength earlier in the year and having Chapman in that closet role is the best version.
Speaking of streaks: The Orioles have lost 19 in a row!buckethead post=438425 said:In many way Peralta has been as important a pick up as Gallo or Rizzo. If Chapman doesn't get straightened out I'd as soon see him and Loaisiga vs Green in the closing situations. Wandy hasn't given up a run in August.
Now to go into Oakland and keep the streak going.
HOF caliber year in 85, but I think Gator’s best year was 78.section10 post=438430 said:the 1985 yanks won the second most games in the al.
the top 4 in the lineup were stars plus 2 Italian Americans plus billy martin was the manager
5 yanks had 19 or more gettys
that was louisiana lightning's finest year
5 guys in pen has eras of 3.21 or lower

I believe Willie played regularly at 2b that year, but wasn’t in that particular lineup.
With peak or near peak Henderson, peak Donnie and others, that team’s problem wasn’t offense. After Gator and Rags in the pen, I believe the pitching was short. People forget how many games that group won, because with no WC they didn’t make the playoffs. It wasn’t until later in the 80s the Yanks really started to fall off. Looking at the roster you can see some of the shortcomings in how Big Stein built rosters, since he was still actively calling the shots. The mid/late 80s are the “what if” generation for me as a Yankee fan (given my age) because we traded so much from a bountiful farm system often chasing bad fits or “name” veterans instead. Just look at some of the arms and young talent the Yanks parted with in that era.
