NY YANKEES - 2021

Hard to believe they are starting Heaney today. It is like they do not want to have a chance to sweep!
What's the other option?  With the make up game Monday and the double header yesterday we play 8 games in 7 days.  We need 6 starters this week.
Sevy should be getting this start.  That's not happening and I doubt you see him again this year, if ever, in a Yankee uniform.
Cole
Monty
Tallion
Gil
Cortes
Heaney

Until Kluber and/or German return, Heaney gets the rock.

game 120.
what a day/night. sweeping the sox.
deja vu all over again. another nail biter. another 2 run win.
since stanton's blast, i went back to t-mobile and upgraded the model i bought.
big bravo to gil. and the yankee pen.
if the yank ss did not poorly play a 5th inning grounder, gil stays in and gets the win.
that play probably cost gil some ROY votes.
2 gettys. stay healthy looooooooooooooou,
chad and jeremy for the first time ever, registered a zero on the agita scale.
did i tell you how much i love 7 inning games. about as much as i love ucant.

He has pitched 15 innings. He has given up 8 HRs, 15 hits, walked 6 and has a 9 ERA. It would be difficult for any minor leager to be much worse!

On the other hand, Heaney is due for a big game. So tired of following these games up in Maine via pitch by pitch. Tonight's game is on ESPN!

Huge win for Yanks in first half of doubleheader. I was so glad Boone left Loaisiga in but probably didn't have much choice.
Heard during the broadcast that Velasquez, who had a big hit early, is a grad of Fordham Prep.
Yes, he did and he is from the Bronx.  His dad was an NYPD Detective.

Still not suggesting an option...You want to give the ball to Devi Garcia?  His ERA is as bad as Heaney's and he's only facing AAA batters.

Nobody is suggesting Heaney is the answer.  He's just the only option right now.  Stomping your feet and saying "anybody would be better" isn't going to make someone suddenly available.   Go look at the 40 man roster and see who you'd like to give the start too.  When you discover there isn't anyone available, then look at the rest of the farm system and see who you want to promote to the 40 and who you plan to release to free up a spot.

Until then, there isn't a better option.

Rizzo & Chapman activated. Rizzo in starting lineup. One of 5 lefty batters in the lineup. Voit sits.

We got 4 excellent innings out of Heaney so far. He has a track record as a decent (not good) 4th or 5th starter with the Angels and was due for a decent outing which he gave us at the right time. Would be happy if he gave us 1 more inning and turn it over to bullpen.

Thursday's games of importance:

Baltimore (J. Lopez - 3-13, 6.14) at Tampa Bay (McClanahan - 7-4, 3.73) - 1:10 PM

Seattle (Flexen - 10-5, 3.78) at Texas (Howard - 0-3, 5.61) - 2:05 PM

Oakland (Irvin - 8-11, 3.52) at White Sox (Cease - 9-6, 4.04) - 2:10 PM

Minnesota (Gant - 4-6, 3.49) at Yankees (Taillon - 7-4, 3.89) - 7:05 PM

game 121.
another nail biting win. another boston massacre?
to use a basketball term - the last 3 in - rizzo, stanton, gardy -
all 3 contributed to the game winning 4 run 2nd inning.
bravo fordham prep for the last rbi and the game ending play.
since oakland lost, perhaps the wild card game will be in the bronx.
who starts that game? cole or heaney?
heaney's over/under - 4 innings - 6 runs - if you had both unders, you won.
bravo bravo heaney (7 times) - 7 innings, 2 hits, one run.
pen agita scores -
adam oh no - minus 2 - allowed judge to get to second.
britton - zero  = ball never left infield
chapman - nine - first batter - full count, next 456 foot getty, next - walk, next hard grounder to first, next line drive base hit, next get your arse to the dugout.
leutge - one - ball hit in hole - great ss play.

Yankees pitchers have recorded a save in six consecutive games, tying the longest streak in franchise history (two by Chad Green, one each by Albert Abreu, Wandy Peralta, Jonathan Loaisiga and Lucas Luetge).

Disappointed.
I expected to come here and see posts saying Velazquez needs to play over Gleyber.

game 122.
its the 6th inning, up 6 to zip, the twinkies have the 3rd worse al record.
finallly i thought, no nail biter. wrong.
the Jesuit jet leads the yanks to the win.
hot and cold stanton has an on base streak going.
wisely - both voit and rizzo in lineup together with stanton in outfield.
peralta with a zero on the agita scale.
both britton and chad and jeremy get a agita 9.
