I hope Boone has finally realized that Britton is not a closer.  Too late to add players not int organization.

Bring back Buck Showalter.

He doesn't think that.
That's why he brought in Green to close.

who might this be? top of first, 2 on, 2 out, 2 strikes.
the pitch is a foot outside and at the ankles, and i swing and miss.

ridings - 4 pitches, 4 balls. get him out of there.

game 117.
bravo cortes, odor eater, and voit.
must use both voit (hot) and rizzo together, when rizzo comes back.
put stanton in the outfield or platoon stanton's zillion dollar contract.
the pen fights/claws but gets the job done with a few warts(leutge)/agita(ridings).
again beat the first place team on the road. again won another series.

Shhhh! We're trying to sneak up on the teams ahead of us. /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

Monday's games of importance:

LA Angels (Suarez - 5-5, 3.90) at Yankees (Cole - 10-6, 3.11) - 7:05 PM

Baltimore (Harvey - 6-11, 6.10) at Tampa Bay (TBA) - 7:10 PM

Oakland (Montas - 9-8, 3.98) at White Sox (Keuchel - 7-6, 4.51) - 8:10 PM

It's tough following the games via ESPN or MLB pitch by pitch from Maine, but caught the end of yesterday's win on TBS. Team is very resilient right now, with the cavalry coming. Hopefully Cole shines tonight, and Montgomery, Sanchez and Rizzo are back this week. The bullpen looks spent, so looking forward to some of these starters getting into the 6th and 7th innings consistently.

Yankee fans expect to win.

Not all of us.  There are some who said that the season was over in May.  In June.  In July... /media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

game 118.
JOEY gallO
after gallo's getty, if you were looking for yanks offense, you should have turned your 13 inch black and white philco tv off.
another nail biter. another win by 1 or 2 runs.
another win when the pitching saved the day and the sticks did not show up.
angels had merely 3 hits, one walk, 15 k;s
yanks had bases loaded zero outs = nothing. another time - first and 2nd and no outs = zero,
bravo cole, great outing after layoff.
abreu is turning out to be boone's pen star.

I guess I’ve been a Yankees fan a lot longer than you.

Two tough matchups for the Yanks today. Hock (I believe) and Eovaldi have been difficult matchups for the Yankees. Need to take 2 of these 3 games. Will gladly take nailbiters as long as they are wins!!

Huge win for Yanks in first half of doubleheader. I was so glad Boone left Loaisiga in but probably didn't have much choice.
Heard during the broadcast that Velasquez, who had a big hit early, is a grad of Fordham Prep.

game 119.
what a game. another nail biter. another 1/2 run margin of victory.
both managers from 5th inning on were managing as if it was the world serious. they believed the game to be impotent.
what a blessing having voit in that lineup. trully missed.
stanton - a clutch pinch hit rbi. as soon as game was over, i bought a t*mobile phone.
good outing for monty in his return.
on a scale of 1 to 10. the 7th inning recorded a 9 on the agita scale.

Sweeny Murti

The Yankees gained 9 games on Boston in 23 days. Since July 25, Boston went 8-14, Yankees went 17-5. Yankees and Red Sox are even now, both 5 games behind Tampa Bay.

They're considered "virtually" tied.

The Yankees are actually slightly ahead of Boston, including a one game lead in the loss column, which is the important number.

Wednesday's games of importance:

Toronto (Berrios - 8-6, 3.52) at Washington (J. Gray - 0-1, 4.13) - 4:05 PM

Boston (Pivetta - 9-5, 4.20) at Yankees (Heaney - 7-8, 5.78) - 7:05 PM

Baltimore (Watkins - 2-4, 5.25) at Tampa Bay (Head - 1-0, 1.85) - 7:10 PM

Seattle (M. Gonzalez - 4-5, 4.35) at Texas (Foltynewicz - 2-11, 5.66) - 8:05 PM

Oakland (Irvin - 8-11, 3.52) at White Sox (Lynn - 10-3, 2.26) - 8:10 PM

Hard to believe they are starting Heaney today. It is like they do not want to have a chance to sweep!
