We go to one game a year.  My son wanted to see Gerrit Cole pitch.  So just yesterday I bought tickets for tomorrow night's game.   I freakin' hate Covid!

I bought for tomorrow expecting Cole too, but I go to a lot of games, so it doesn't bother me too much.  Besides, Cortes has been the staff ace of late.

My question is:  what is going on with this team, and COVID?  They reached the 85 percent threshold in April, yet guys are still going down.  This isn't happening on any other team.  Not at this rate anyway.

Meanwhile.....why is Nestor Cortes allowed to keep his porn star mustache?  Did the Yankees relax their facial hair rule?

How old are you? Did you grow up with Don Mattingly? Goose Gossage? Even younger fans remember Giambi sported one.

Mustaches have always been allowed. It’s long hair and beards that have been a no no.

Yes, you're right.  And, now that you mention it, I also remember Thurman Munson's Fu Manchu.

Guess I am just not a fan of Cortes' stache.

after the 4 ballantines and a double. i had to vent. i was concerned for the safety of the yankee outfielders. i did not want to see any of them crashing into a wall. so i put on my rabbit skin fur coat and it worked. the batting practice pitcher was yanked. but the anemic yankee sticks were not helped by my rabbit mojo.

Hot shot prospect Luis Gil seems to be getting the call up.  Hopefully he doesn't falter like Deivi Garcia who is now resembling Nook Lalush pre-Crash Davis.

Montgomery has covid too.
Johnson and Johnson is a waste of a company. I hope they go bankrupt.

Playing 6 straight days in Florida, where cases are rising more then anywhere else, was probably the leading cause of this outbreak.

game 106.
the story of this game was not the yanks beating a crappy team that used crappy pitchers.nor the yanks plethora of hits and runs and gettys but rookie pitchers -
On Monday, Gil thought he was going to still be pitching for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre the next day. But he received the call that night telling him he was going to the big leagues.“I was so excited, I called my family. I barely slept. The emotions and everything I felt were going through my head,” Gil said through an interpreter. “I prayed a lot. I asked for guidance, because I knew I was going to be nervous.”By the time Gil reached the Yankee Stadium mound, he kept his emotions in check. He threw six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out six. Gil relied heavily on his four-seam fastball -- clocked as high as 98.5 mph -- and slider to get quick outs.
Gil wasn’t the only Yankees pitcher to make his Major League debut, as relievers Stephen Ridings and Brody Koerner also both took a big league mound for the first time. It was the second time in Yanks history that three pitchers debuted in the same game. The first time was Sept. 26, 1950, when Lew Burdette, Dave Madison and Ernie Nevel debuted against the Senators.

Chapman after causing heart palpitations gets the job done but not until he did his Carl Lewis imitation by bouncing a 70 foot pitch for a wild pitch.
