NY YANKEES - 2021

Newsday is reporting that Cashman is telling people that SS prospect Anthony Volpe is off limits.

The NY Teasers did it again. Lost this game twice. In their 2nd inning, and in Cole's last inning. Their 2nd inning is a microcosm of the season. Cole had no reason to pitch to Devers with 1st base open while he was running out of gas in his last inning. Any talk of being buyers at the trade deadline is ludicrous. This team, under Boone, is going nowhere. Just another tease, and the way things are going, by the end of the weekend this season will be over.

You mean anyone not named Aaron Boone

Mets fan question to Yankee fans.

Would you trade Judge and Gleyber Torres for Alonso and McNeil, straight up.

Puts contact hitter lefty with some power in middle of Yanks' right handed batting array and gives you chance to put Pete at first or DH.

Puts better fielding Dom at first and gives Mets slasher righty bat with some power in midst of Conforto, Nimmo, Smith lineup.  Judge, Nimmo, Conforto in OF

No, I wouldn't do that, because I think Torres can get it right, simply by moving back to second base.

However, I do think it is time for the Yankees to spend like the Dodgers, in order to play more like the Rays.  By that I mean, try and get something for Stanton, DJ (I never liked giving him a 6 year deal), and yes Cole (remember, we gave him a lot of year hoping it would pay off on the front end).  They'd have to eat salary to do that, and even if they can't, just release them anyway.  It would be money well spent.

Then, you bring up the young kids.  Allen and LaMarre are not the future of this franchise (too old), but you can see that they have shaken things up quite a bit, which until today, had been a good thing.  It would be nice to see what some of the kids can give you.

Then, make Buck Showalter the highest paid manager in baseball.  If he won't take it, then try Ozzie Guillen.  If not him, then just promote the Triple A manager (I don't even know who that is), and let him work with the kids he's more familiar with.

The status quo can not be maintained.

How do you try to get something for Stanton when he has a no trade clause and doesn't want to go anywhere?

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.   Who's the option in the pen right now who is a mortal lock to get the job done?

I wouldn't.  It's not a ludicrous ask on your part, but that trade doesn't help the Yankees very much.   At best, its a lateral move.

We've seen people wave their no-trade clauses in the past, in order to try and win a world series.  And like I said, if he won't do that, just release him.  It would be money well spent, and like I said elsewhere, he's not the only one.

Gee, maybe he should have had more confidence in the starter.

Tomorrow’s headline:  Yankees sign Boone to an extension.

There is no mortal lock. But the same manager who babies the bullpen and position players decides the throw caution to the wind today.  Anyone could have seen this happening.

If you think there is even a chance of that you really need a history lesson with Steinbrenner Yankees. They let managers contracts expire. And lo and behold who’s contract expires after this year.

so wait

You want to trade Stanton DJ and Cole who ALL have no trade clauses. But you think Gleyber can be saved just by moving back to 2B.

Also if Ozzie Guillen becomes the manager of the Yankees I’m joining Knight on the sidelines.

The NY Teasers teased within the game. Boy, when Yankees relievers go south, they really suck. Time to call it a season.
