Nuri Leaving

Thanks Tom.

Lavin offers no new information on the situation and basically says that it was an "amicable divorce."

Hmm.

Nuri texting Lavin about possible places to go.

Nuri's gone. So be it. I think one of the "factors" Steve talked about is our failure to land a true point guard and the impression that Nuri could fill that role. We now know that was a mistake. Boothe was never my fave but at least he had a handle and unlike Nuri could occasionally hit a shot beyond ten feet. Steve wisely moved Hardy to the point and had a good result but he didn't follow up recruiting a PG for this year. Now with Branch's transfer the problem may be somewhat solved but I think we should do whatever to beef up the position if possible.

Guess Nuri fancies himself as a 2 (shooting) guard. He should be quite successful at the next level.

To all my fans and supporters, I'll be making my decision this Saturday on where I decided to transfer too. Stay tuned.

although i wish the kid well i almost wish the topic would just slither away into the abyss of the thread pool
and yes i realize that I could ignore it but I try not to skip stuff because this is my lifeline to SJU as long as I am stuck in pergatory Ohio - which is pretty much until i retire  :eek:hmy:

I'm sure everyone is on the edge of their seats..is this guy serious?

I'm sure his friends and family (the ones who haven't been murdered) are on the edge of their seats. I'm certainly interested in seeing if he does as well at his new school as have the many players who transferred out of here who excel in a different environment. Eg Quincy Roberts is averaging 23 p and 5 reb per game at Grambling, good thing TGAPL threw him overboard. (Although a little class drop goes a long way, which is why you read the conditions before you handicap the race.) What's hard to take seriously are middle aged men following some kids twitter feed looking for reasons to rip him, like god forbid he should talk about broads and sneakers or something.

You are interested to see how he does? Cool, let us know

cc, you sound like Nuri was supposed to take care of some business for you and now you're very angry at that little jerk. He's gone, let it go. :)

Don't let ESPN fool you, Quincy's averaging 26 and 6.5. ESPN for some reason thinks he played in a game on Nov 11/19 during which he played 0 mins, missed his only shot and had a rebound. Must have been a walk-on but they haven't fixed it. Skewing his stats severely. ;)

Q has been a phenom at Grambling State! I Googled his games (I'm not a Twitter fan) and found that TGAPL lost an incredible talent! Whereas at St. John's he surely would have come off the bench to average 5 minutes and 1 shot per game, at Grambling he is THE MAN! Sure they lost their first 11 games, sure they have only won 2 games! But Quincy is showing them that he can score double digits every game...win or lose. Why what is his new-found secret weapon you may ask? It is shooting! Shooting, shooting and then more shooting! Against TCU he took 26 shots! He is averaging 19 shots per game!! He is the Pistol Pete of Grambling! He claims that his new Michael Jordan sneakers have propelled his game even further than the intense massages provided by the sisters of Gamma Gamma Omega!

Didn't he leave to be closer to him mom in philly? Says alot about his character, cant even man up to say why he chose to leave and chooses to tell a bold face lie? (not even a good one either)

What does the NCAA have to say about this?
