Nuri Leaving

Arkansas.

Good spot for him playing in 40 minutes of hell system.

It is Fayetteville! It is like playing 40 minutes IN hell!
I spent a week there one day a few years ago! I could swear the pizza was made with ketchup and they used American cheese instead of mozzarella!
Wherever he ends up, best of luck Nuri!

Didn't he leave to be closer to him mom in philly? Says alot about his character, cant even man up to say why he chose to leave and chooses to tell a bold face lie? (not even a good one either)

What does the NCAA have to say about this?

He's transferring within the rules of any transfer. What would the NCAA have to say about this? He can't play til next December just like Branch. Or are you talking about Quincy? He did the same and don't recall he seeking a hardship waiver either.

And Class of 72, Grambling was 0-7 without Quincy and is 2-3 with him so cut him some slack. He's shooting because he's a mid-major talent playing in a one bid conference. He's also a shooting guard playing 37 minutes per game. He's going to get his shots. I wish him luck but note my winkie face on my original post.

FWIW He might have been nice to take 10% of DLo and Greene's minutes plus some of Malik's but he can't play PG so he'd only be so useful. He is shooting 36% from 3 taking 4 per game and a second shooter is something many think the team needs.

He is on track to break the Grambling shot record. Next game he said is taking 35 shots! Shoot Forrest, shoot!
BTW, I recall he played matador defense and would have gotten 5 minutes of Stith's minutes. Then again, I think Boris should get 5 minutes of Stiths minutes. Winkie.

I believe that Lindsey's game is flawed.

Lindsey can dribble and drive to the basket but because he lacks a reliable outside shot teams play off of him and cut off his driving experience.

I was only disappointed to see Lindsey because it left us short handed but with the addition of Mr. Branch then he becomes irrelevant.

Tough to wish NL all the best as he quit on the team at a real critical time.
We shall see if he ever plays a moment at Arkansas, time will tell.
In the long run I certainly agree with Otis that Branch will certainly benefit the team more.

Attitude counts.

I'll agree to disagree about "mid major talent." Quincy was better as a freshman than is Phil Greene, playing about of position and being coached by Beteljuice and the knuckleheads around him, as opposed to TGAPL.

Roberts
19 min / 5 ppg / 3 reb / .36 FG / .78 FT / .28 3 pt

Greene
28 min / 6 ppg / 3 reb / .30 FG / .75 FT / .20 3 pt.

Huh. Better in every statistical category except assists - Greene, a PG, averages 2 a game, where Roberts only managed one, in 10 fewer minutes. Of course the wheels have fallen off the Phil Greene bandwagon, so there's that. Maybe he'll transfer to Grambling and start shooting 40 percent from 3 and then we can rip him as well. In fact, let me come out right now and start a completely unfounded rumor: if Phil Greene transfers because he's been recruited over then he's a pussy and a quisling and moreover he's a lousy player unless he doesn't in which case he's amazing.

I'll admit to being prejudiced: my favorite play of the entire Beteguse era was Roberts posterizing some dope from the foul line and getting called for a charge. I was sorry to see him go.

I will agree though that having Roberts as extra body would be "useful" - then TGAPL could run a 5 on 5 practice. Think of the possibilities. Perhaps that would be helpful in perfecting the weave they've been running for 38 seconds every offensive set for the last two months before one of the frosh back irons a three. Oh well, no doubt that was planned, as it is well known that TGAPL is infallible.

As for Roberts shooting alot, well, at least he's better at it than D'Angelo Harrison.

Q Roberts
32 min / 22 points / 6 rebounds / 1 assist / .44 FG / .77 FT / .38 3 pt

D Harrison
34 min / 16 pts / 4 reb / 2 assist / .38 FG / .80 FT / .33 3 pt

Huh. He takes more shots and makes more shots. Both from the floor and from 3. Go figure. Does the level of competition enter into it. It shirley does. Does age? It shirley does. Will DH end up a better player. He shirley may. Is he better now? Maybe, but you shirley couldn't prove it by the numbers. But screw him, he transferred. Pussy.

uhm, i dont care about stats in this case. twist them any way you want. I saw Roberts play, and he is NOT better or even to the ability of Greene. C'mon, you are just trying to bring the curren roster down.

Note: Greene has been a turnover machine lately and I dont think he is the answer, but he's better than Roberts. Roberts was not a BE talent, regardless of what he is doing at his current level with Grambling.

So to recap. Although when Roberts was in the BE he performed better by every metric than Phil Greene, he is not as good as Phil Greene because that's what you remember. That would be a compelling argument if your impression comprised a fact. Unfortunately it does not.

you can't really put any value in the stats "achieved" by Roberts, since he didn't get any meaningful playing time, other than when Booth got hurt for a bit. Sometimes you just have to watch a player play. He was not a BE talent, which is why he transferred to GRAMBLING. No big time programs wanted him.

When Arkansas finally received his transcript they must have said it did not fit the point guard major he applied for and recommended bench player major. It appears the biggest problem was his grade in 3 point shooting. The Arkansas admissions committee just could not get over a 0 % grade. He then changed his mind and applied to Rider where he will be closer to his Philly brain trusts.

I kinda wish this one would just die. The kid has made a mistake (a few actually) and has obviously gotten bad or no advice from anyone that has a brain. He's got to live with his mistakes, so let's wish him the best and just let it go.

He did get great advise. He was the starting PG at SJU getting plenty of exposure and top coaching. Now he will be playing for a mediocre Rider program ,that no one cares about.LOL
