I would also like to commend Mr. Trump on one of his latest appointments:

Elaine Chao as Secretary of Transportation. She is the wife of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

Way to drain the swamp, tough guy!

Next up, re-negotiate that BS deal Obama made with Iran,
I'm just glad we are going to be in Cuba before he takes office and tries to renegotiate. I'm not even joking when I say one of the reasons why we just booked it is to go there before he gets into office and ruins it :)

at least he hired a woman. baby steps :)

Next up, re-negotiate that BS deal Obama made with Iran,

This deal is not perfect, nor is it the "disaster" that our president elect has railed against. I have found that a majority of folks have not done their homework on the deal. Rather, based strictly on sound bites, they have come to assume that it must have been negotiated in a completely thoughtless and reckless manner. Not true.

The deal Obama made to Cuba which got us nothing in return and did not even address human rights violations lifted sanctions even as Castro was on his last breaths. Cubans Americans are fiercely nationalistic and love their homeland, but most knew that sanctions had brought cuba to their knees once soviet support vanished after the ussr breakup. Thhey were biding their time when a Castro death would signal change that had to come with Cuba needing America to return to prosperity. Its almost as if Obama favors communism and wanted to give raul and the hardliners a boost to solidify their stronghold before.fidel.perished. there is a lot to love about cuban people but lifting sanctions without getting any concessions from cuba to improve life for their citizenry is simply obaminable

The sleezy underhandedness of us shipping palettes of cash literally in the cover of darkness and trying to hide that from american people valudates how obama operated. Open mic to russians whispering "tell vladimir i can do more (to disarm our nuclear arsenal) after the (2012) election tell you all you need to know. Obama would act against the best interests of america and try to hide it. Only the devoted sheep couldnt see that

Hope and Change from the guy who campaigned as a Washington outsider. Oh wait that was 2008 and then he loaded up on Washington insiders.

The questions about this carrier deal isn't what Trump gave up or offered, it's why hasn't Obama done the same thing over the past 8 years? This should have been Obama's to save, instead of crowing about a bailout that saved a sinking ship that should have been allowed to go down.

I am happy for the employees. I am also anxiously awaiting the details.

"Hope and Change" is a far cry from "Draining the Swamp". Regardless, I am happy to agree that they are both empty promises designed to pry on the easily moved and uninformed.

I really like your fairness in dialogue. You are certainly not deplorable, and may even be redeemable :)
just kidding.

So you're going to just ignore the Auto industry bailout?

When I look at Cubans and what happens there and then I look at how we treat Saudi Arabia and several other countries then I'm not going to get too worked up in thinking somehow our administration ( republicans and democrats ) can ever take the moral highroad. Cuba is 90 miles from our country and US policy got nowhere. ( by no means am I defending Castro ) I'd say things are closer to change now for their people than at any point in the previous 50 years but I can't say for certain since I haven't been there yet and talked to them.

I'll let you know in a month and a half when I get back from Cuba :)

If Trump did a Carrier-style deal every week for the next 4 years, he could bring back 4% of the manufacturing jobs lost since 2000.

No, not at all. I do believe in a free market society, where the best companies survive and thrive. The financial bailout of 2007 was necessary to avert a worldwide financial meltdown. Let's avoid the reasons why this happened for a second, which is contentious, but unquestionably if major financial institutions failed, major developed nations would likely have fallen into depression.

The auto bailout is another story. GM was mismanaged and laden with union contracts that made them non competitive. The bailout of GM screwed bond holders, who lost their entire investment. If we were going to bailout GM or Ford or anyone else, at the very least we should have stipulated that they do all their manufacturing in the US. I'm not in favor of bailing out bad for profit companies. After all, what's more American, an American company like Ford and others that manufacture in Mexico, or Japanese companies like Toyota that manufacture in the US? The strong should survive without government intervention.
