Don't be too sure we will have a democracy if Clinton is elected. The party definitions are changing with this election and IMO there no longer is a Democratic or Republican party. I would call them the Globalist Party (which includes the useless, spineless remnants of the Republican party) and the America First Party. I am not sure what America will look like in a decade if Clinton is elected, I believe the open borders, amnesty, entitlements, etc. will virtually assure we become a one party country. Non-violent takeovers from within start with the control of the media, which has happened, and the break down of religion, which has either happened or is happening depending on your view. Scary times and I am convinced a large portion of this country would have drank the kool-aid in Jonestown had the Clintons been doing the selling.

I carefully read the letter although I attended a communion breakfast on Saturday with the Sunday liturgy and was spared the actual read.
I think what the bishop was saying that the destruction of children in the womb is an absolute evil to Catholics regardless of the creed of those victimized and that Catholics should not vote for candidates in any party that support this. He was particularly rough on those Catholic politicians who try to blur the lines by saying they are personally against abortion but cannot impose their views on others. Tim Kaine has espoused this view and IMO any candidate who does this (Rep, Dem, or Independent) confuses the laity by publicly identifying themselves as a person of faith, and then supporting legislation that is contrary to positions that their faith holds. Not picking on Kaine because I am as tough on Republicans who try the same position.
For Catholics, the position on abortion is not open to dialogue or subjective. I believe that those in particular who support partial birth abortion are flat out evil. The procedure is gruesome, and other the babies emerge alive, well, and breathing until a scissor is jammed into the base of their skull and spinal cord severed, a process lightly referred to as "snipping". When you read those horrific accounts, you feel a little less remorse for those abortion doctors murdered by insane fanatics.
We all understand that you have a problem with organized religion. I myself am not the most religious of individuals. But why is it that all of your cheap shots seemed to be directed at Christianity? And why is it that you don't seem get-or just don't give a damn-that the majority of people on this board are Catholic and that many of your cheap shots may be offensive to them?

The virtues of Chrisitanity are faith, hope, and charity.
What Christians believe are called tenets. When they are unclear to others, I will sometimes explain tenets.
Even if Christian virtues are extolled here, it is a sports board of a Catholic University.
No one here has ever questioned your right to reject the tenets of faith. Actually, it is doctrinally correct for Christians not be responsible for the conversion of non-believers. However, it is a moral responsibility of all Christians to spread the Gospel (which means Good News) by deeds and action. I don't believe anyone here ever mocks your lack of belief, but you continually mock the beliefs of Christians. I believe it's offensive, but not to me at all. It just degrades you.
All religious institutions espouse political views to their followers, be it publicly or privately. If you know Brooklyn at all then you know that there is no more politically influential religious group then the Hassidim. If you think that the Imams do not influence the political process then you are being naïve. These are not a criticisms, but rather observations. And you did not say "religious institutions", you said "the church".
Here they go again using racial and gender agitation again ,just like they used social security when I first voted . How could you believe Obama when he sat in Rev. Wright;s church for all those years ? Who is prejudice, the liberal or the conservative ?

Frank, although the left is really good at monikers, these are really the despicable and deplorable, the criminal, the lying and cheating. I seem partisan, and I am on most of the issues, but I also call out the Republicans whom I thought were upright and honest, for distancing themselves from Trump to "save" Republicans running for office (including themselves) only to voice their support of Trump now that he has edged very close.
Far left liberals are deluding themselves for failing to acknowledge that Hillary ad Bill have been running a criminal enterprise for years. When you think about it, its much worse than organized crime because they infiltrated the highest levels of government and traded access to the state department for donations to their "charitable" foundation. She has to know should Trump win, the justice department will be emptied of the corrupt leaders installed by Obama, and she will certainly be indicted, convicted, and sentenced.
This is a pivotal moment in US history. We are sliding into an abyss filled with unprecedented government entitlements that will result on the working class contributing increasing amounts of their paychecks, a stagnant middle class with erodng net salaries, current leaders stoking the flames of racial divisiveness to convert them into votes and encouraging violence against law officers by questioning every instance of lethal force against minority criminals, using every occasion of radical Islamic terrorism to cozy up to the mainstream Muslim community. The list simply goes on and on.
Trump may be inept as a politician, but he is dead on with his plans to lift up the worst communities by jobs creation. Toss in personal responsibility and this crazy idea may just work or at least improve things.
Trump is absolutely correct that the healthcare solution is to toss out Obamacare, a monumental failure that didn't reduce costs by 25% as the idiot Obama promised, or allow you to keep your doctors (you couldn't) but as a businessman knows that competitive environments lower costs. Allow insurance companies to compete across state lines and prices will drop. Honestly, I don't understand how insurance companies jacked prices because 20- somethings didn't sign up when they weren't signed up before.
Hillary simply will say anything to get elected. She has done anything, including conspiring with the DNC to get the nomination. First she said there will be absolutely no boots on the ground in the middle east, now she says that she will do whatever it takes. She believe she is entitled because she is a woman. She is hated even by her inner circle, who are a bunch of jackals behind the scenes.
When caught in despicable plans and actions by WikiLeaks, her plan was a massive assault blaming Russians attempting to aid and abet Trump. God knows, why would the Russians favor Trump when Putin had his way with the dumbass Obama, who was caught on an open mic in 2011 to a Russian diplomat "Tell Vladimir I can do more (to reduce nuclear arsenals) once I get re-elected)" Gross deception of the American public to the max.
Democrats - the party of the downtrodden? That's the biggest lie that I walked away from after 20 years as a Democrat. What city, what group, who has been uplifted by the Democratic Party - no one. The lie of social welfare to aid those in poverty is revealed by the multi-generational poverty, abandonment of parental responsibilities by males, and less family structure than not only 30-40-or 60 years ago, but even more than in times of slavery. No, the master plan is to keep poor people poor and voting Democratic, so dirt poor Democrats like the Obamas and the Clintons can become the wealthy elite.
Ten years ago, I merely favored Republican ideology over Democrat. Now I detest the evil left wing liberals who really pull the strings (and not the ideological sheep who have been deceived) and strongly dislike the career Republicans who favor only their own skins.
Call me crazy, but I think a man who has actually built something, a billion dollar corporation over 50 years, has a lot more business acumen than a lying, cheating, hated, and CRIMINAL political hack like Clinton who shields a rapist husband (who liberals adore), but attacks Trump as lecherous (which he may be but rapists go to jail, lecherous get slapped).
in my town, property taxes in a working class place now average close to $15,000 for 40x100 lots. The middle has been squeezed like crazy.
So if you pull the lever for Hillary, just don't complain when you get what you deserve should she win. Me, I'll take my chances of neophyte over criminal any day

I'll give you a +1. I don't understand why the DOJ blocked a grand jury in the E mail case, doesn't pass the smell test. I also agree w you and think the Clinton foundation is a bigger problem than the Email server . I'm conviced the foundation is corrupt and the Clintons engaged in pay for play. This investigation has been ongoing and will continue into her presidency if she is elected, which is troubling.

As a dear friend of mine(a lifelong staunch Dem and Gov't employee) said to me yesterday "if she is elected president, she will be under investigation for 2 years and then she'll be impeached and gone from office. Then we'll have that other clown (Kaine) as President. What a mess". And that's coming from a Dem!!!!
